I'd like to try them, but most of the time I'm out walking, I'm out with my dogs, so need waterproof/off road type boots. Or if I go into the office, I need to dress more formally. So I'd like some, but they'd only get used while I'm out shopping, and that isn't a significant portion of my mileage. Although I might get some anyway. Just 'cos.
I tried them on once but didn't like the way they felt when I was walking in them. I enjoy these Asics much better. Have you ever tried these shoes on? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
My company sells a gazillion of them a week. They are called "Shape Ups" in the USA. In fact, I'm sitting here looking at the inventory reports for the past 30 days for one of our stores. ~String
The sketchers rounded soles suck. They used to have really great designs with almost flat soles that match the shape of the road and spread out the weight evenly. Now the soles are rounded. They might as well be high-heels with the weight focused in the middle of the rear.

Dude, 'Shape Ups' are just one line from Skechers. If you'd bothered going to their web site, you'd see 26 _pages_ of styles they produce, in the Men's section alone. They don't all have curved soles.
That's a good shoe, but thanks to a little asymmetry in my left ankle, after a bad break, I need more support, so have Nike Equalon 4's for running.
I wish I could do a walking comparison to see if anything has changed for the better or worse. I used to wear New Balance but lately their quality has went to complete shit IMO. The soles collapse in about 12 weeks and shoes look like they need the bin (and I used to really like New Balance). Anyway, I ripped some cartilage in knee years ago and had some small problems in that knee for 5 years (only daily stretching fixed it up - which I still need to do). I noticed after wearing these Skechers my knee is feeling great - that may just be because there's so much more padding or it could also be because of the way my foot now impacts with the ground. I'm not sure.
By the way Asics has a return policy that if anything wears out within ONE YEAR on their shoes, they will replace them free of charge as long as you have the reciept.
I've gone through a gazillion [ie more than half a dozen] Skechers shoes, they have the most awesome colours and are relatively inexpensive [for the wear]. My favourite was a chocolate brown with turquoise highlights and laces [swoon!] Presently, I am on the Reebok Easytone kick. If you suffer from impact injury you should wear shoes with gel in the heel and also socks which are padded in the heel. Nike has a good range of shoes with the technology that is being used for artificial turf as well, to reduce injuries, I can't recall the brand name of the shoes with gel in the heels - something with A. Asics, maybe? I know its a very limited selection because I could never find one in my size - however all the Big Foots I know swear by it.
Hmmm, shame they don't make walking boots and make that boast. I can easily rack up 1000miles a year just walking my dogs, that usually sees off one pair of walking boots, my last pair managing just nine months. When I'm running I average about 20miles a week too, ... so same mileage. Maybe I should have bought Asics, and tested their guarantee!
I can attest to the guarantee because I had a pair that were a little tatered and they gave me my full credit for a new pair of walking shoes.
They are damned comfortable, no? I have like four pairs of them. Have had dozens in the last ten years. I don't get why other shoes aren't as comfortable. You'd think that the "other guys" would just reverse-engineer what Sketchers does and make their just as for-fitting. ~String
Yes, very comfortable. I like the fact that they are not as thin as canvas shoes which is what I used to go through before them and not as bulky as regular sneakers. You don't have to "break them in" before they become second skin. But mostly I like the look of the range of fashion sneakers that Skechers has - they are not matched by any other in the same price range and for the same comfort.
