But it's trivial, if I called you a "retarded sack of goat shit who is so retarded that he kills people's brain waves just by talking" is an actual insult that you would take seriously.

Planetary bombardments show low kiloton firepower, TDiC visuals showing tons. 4.3 gigawatt weapons. A few gigawatts considered important. Megajoule impacts shaking a ship up... It goes on.

Woah, woah, woah! You're actually arguing that they could beat the Empire at all even when their superweapons are a digit below standard transport weaponry?

:wtf: Where did you pull that out of? I said nothing of the kind. And for the record, I am not defending Star Trek, merely proving that tactics are indeed needed.

The Cardassian Dreadnought had 43 GT worth of firepower, whereas an Acclamator does 200 GT per turbolaser. Really. They can't win in any fight they go against, unless the outnumber the opposition 1,000 to 1 at least.

The generally accepted average IQ is 100. However in the USA it is 98.

Well, only 12 countries scored at and above 100. I have questions as to why it is generally accepted as 100.

AFAIK it's "adjusted"* every couple of years or so to make the "average" 100. That way it makes a relative scoring easier to work out.

    * Apparently it's climbing steadily, so the adjustment is "downward".

If it's any help ( I didn't catch the start of the argument):- a plasma can form in any explosion: nuke or not. It depends on which explosives are used - which dictates the temperatures caused during detonation.
Of course, with HE the plasma will dissipate much quicker since the overall temperatures (and volume of the explosion) will be comparatively smaller.

True, it doesn't have to be nuclear, it just have to be a certain temperature, I was merely using a thermonuclear weapon as a example.

Ah, okay. Like I said, I missed the start of the posts about plasmas and explosions, and just wanted to drop some information on you (in case you hadn't known).

you mean by blowing them up? why would they do that? they like to absorb people. they *could* blow up a planet.

the borg could go back in time and prevent a planet from being born.

i think Dune, Farscape and Stargate deserve their own thread, as noone here is interested in them. all i see is Star Trek vs Star Wars.

The "Continuum" is the "leading power entity/intelligence level", and would have the advantage that the "Force" would already be an understood phenomenon to them.

    So I voted Star Trek.

However, the Continuum would perhaps have a different outcome arranged for all participants. But since they are a Star Trek inception, I must vote accordingly.
