How about you obey the rules? If I'm expected to obey the rules, then it only follows that everyone else should be required to as well. Furthermore, perhaps if you didn't make unsupported assertions, while expecting others to support their claims your opponents wouldn't be as 'obstinate'. Ergo. Correct your own shitty behaviour before expecting those around you to change.
