I just saw on google that today is Earth Day. What does this mean to you? Are you going to do anything special? I think I will go plant some flowers. I like the multi-color hybrid roses best.

Is that yours? What kind is it? I have never driven a hydrocar. If you have, how do you like it?

Not mine. It is in Germany I believe. They have had hydrogen there for over 30 years already although it hasn't caught on as yet.

Is the cost similar to gas? Is car performance any different?

It costs about 4.00 per gallon US and gives about the same performance as regular gas. If it were in full production it would cost less of course but the gas industry doesn't want that to happen.

Statoil is the Norwegian state oil company, so it is more likely to be in Norway. Statoil do have service stations in Germany, but this appears to be one of those constructed on the Hydrogen Highway, between Oslo and Stavanger.

I did finally burn that big-ass pile of fallen twigs & wee tree branches and pruned bits of hedge that had been accumulating behind my shed for a couple or 3 years...

I went to the dentist last week, she just couldn't stop telling me how bad my smoking is for my health. Don't quite know what brought that on, I will tolerate chastisement (at my age) from my doctor but not from my supermarket cashier; don't quite know where her vociferous opinions came from- considering she is a dentist.

Anyway. I have been a vegetarian for almost a decade and don't go around telling people how bad eating meat is- I let people do what they do. I used to be more vocal but realized you're not going to change someone by pointing out their errors to them.

Happy Earth Day everyone! I moved from NYC to rural Pennsylvania six years ago and appreciate breathing in fresh air, seeing a forest and taking a long walk through a park. Today I watched a (very boring) documentary on the Earth Day movement and learned many important things.

I hope everyone takes the time to see the forest for the trees in it.

The only remaining question is: should I point out to my dentist the error in her ways in eating meat?

I hooked another brows gas system in another one of my cars.

I am getting 72 miles to the gallon of gas in my protégé thanks to them, genius way to have your own cheap hybrid.

Earth day, schmearth day. I still had to punch 3 dozen times on that out of tune V6 Explorer to get around all the hybrids going up hills. I burn 3 times the regular amount of gas when I get around them. What are we really saving?????

The deepest hole ever drilled by man is the
    Kola Superdeep Borehole, in Russia.
It reached a depth of 12,261 meters
(about 40,226 feet or 7.62 miles).
It was drilled for scientific research
and gave up some unexpected discoveries,

one of which was a huge deposit of hydrogen
    - so massive that the mud coming from the hole
    was boiling with it.
