from what i read that's why they went under. american's are starting to switch to smaller more fuel effeicent cars and hummer doesn't exactly meet that. the yahoo or aol article that I read said that in december 2009 only 300 some were sold.

There is no doubt the Hummer is a top of the line Truck that does it all.It eats most everything else in it's class for lunch.Only reason for its demise is we are entering a new era of smaller, more green, higher gas mileage and even towards electric cars. With that the Hummer doesnt fit in anymore with the public buying habits. The hummer didnt fail but more like it has faded out with the times. One day in the future when electric autos have advanced even further the Hummer can return with its own best in class status again.

Perhaps a large segment of their potential market decided to invest in much needed penis enlargement therapy, rather than spending their money on a big phallus on wheels.

The big seller was the H2, which had almost all of the impracticality of the H1, but was based on the Chevrolet full size truck platform. It was known as the ultimate poseur vehicle for a reason. It epitomized the wasteful excess of the entire SUV craze. The housing speculation bubble burst, gasoline went sky high, and they suddenly went out of style. Funny, that. Good riddance.

Perhaps the Hummer is better suited to US roads but here in the UK it is little more than a novelty car, like a limo (I've seen more stretch Hummers than regular Hummers).

Car journos in the UK didn't like the Hummer much, compared to other 4x4 vehicles it was very poor when driven on normal roads. Simply put, there are better cars on sale.

On another note, how much is a penis enlargement operation?

Actually, flying cars are now in production and available for purchase, at least according to ABC news:
