There are so few things in life that we really all have in common... hehe... they are fundamental and sex is one of them. I think it a bit prudish to say "don't talk about sex here". There are a lot of important issues in life (and the discussion thereof) that revolve around sex in one way or another. Sure, it's primal... but isn't the primal aspect of our mind the perch on which the intellect is so precariously balanced? If you are making a conscious decision to disregard that which is primal... do not start a sex forum... if you do not think it proper to make such a division, start one and moderate it and all others with extreme predjudice. i dont think it is so much reading the threads and posts in the sex forum that bothers some of the members, but the people that having such a forum might attract. but wait! I've got an idea. what if there was a delay in access to the forum? in other words.. after you have 50 posts it appears, or after you've been here 14 days or something to that effect. without notification that it is here beofre that. ( i dont know if that is possible, or easy for that matter). BUT it would eliminate those who are just looking for a sex chat, and usually by 50 posts, i think we'd know if this person would be disruptive or not. also, by not notifying them that this forum will appear, it would prevent a sudden flood of posts by one user just to get into that forum. as i said, i dont know how possible or easy it would be porfiry, but.. its just a thought.
Neb. This is a good point, but it doesn't work that way. You see, some of us post from school, on a college campus, or from work. Everything that I view/type goes through a screener. If I type out SEX SEX SEX SEX **** *****! Then Im going to get a note from the guys in charge (My professors/office people) saying that Ive been doing to much surfing, and viewing to many topics based around sex. Im okay with certain topics. Just not Big Penis threads, and other types like that.
so don't go into the sex section. im pretty sure ive never been in the Physics & Math section. its not hard to do.
-laughs- i was thinkin a little more like lykan, a little less like bbcboy. curiosity over crudity .. (eh.. that wasn't meant to be offensive)... a good thread for such a section could be. sex before marriage, pros and cons. and it would give a place for all of those more risque threads, and might help to keep the rest of sciforums more minor-friendly since there will be a PLACE to put those threads in the first place, and then be edited there.. instead of clogging up free thoughts with them.
Heres an idea... If a "sex forum" was to be created, don't call it a "sex forum", otherwise you would probably see people that have lived their lives in the Adult chatrooms flaunting their "warez" there. If your asking Porfiry to create a forum, I would guess that the topic should be so controversial. Perhaps under the "Human Sciences" heading a "Freudian" board. Then you could talk perhaps along the lines of Psychological issues that involve discussion of sex.
