Cooling down that CPU

my CPU fan is only running at 2766rpm, how can I make it run faster? MY chip is soo hot

A lot of cooling has to do with the way the air flows in the box. It's not really helpful to have 4 fans if they're blowing air out at the bottom and sucking air in at the top, hot air rises after all. Cables and cards can cause obstructions in air flow too. You should have fans blowing out air at the top and sucking air in at the bottom-front, that way the warm air gets expelled and cooler air is brought in. This creates an 'S' pattern of airflow in the case. Make sure cables are bundled up and out of the way, that's very important.

Dust also keeps heat in the CPU, make sure you clean the dust out of the case every few months or so. In some cases, these simply things can increase cooling inside the case by a lot, lowering the CPU temp by 10 degrees C or more (at least that's what it did with my friend's computer, which was a mess of cables and dust before I helped him do these few simple things).

al rite, thanx.... but mine is a new comp, every thing is clean, nothing's in the way of the fan.... What I wanted is how to speed it up

LOL. I thought for a time on how well a helium or nitrogen drip would work, but somebody pointed out tha tthe chips aren't made to cool that far.

How 'bout hooking a liquid cooling system up to a water cooler? almost the same thing as a fridge.

Like they said, you probably can't, have to get a new fan witha higher speed to do that, and the speed the fan runs is not important. It's the amount of air that it moves, measured in cubic feet or inches.

Hey Bowser,you are right about the mill,all of the off the shelf H/Sinks have straight fins.
Try working out the fin area,to the area for the heat to pass into the fin!It's really bad design.
The way to design really good cooling fins was developed back in the 50s for racing motorcycles.
They should look like this!
