Found that little program and it's fantastic. If you have your PS3 all set up just the way you want it, stereo etc... but say you wanted to watch a movie on your laptop which is over in the kitchen (and someone may using at the time). Well, you can put it on a stick and play it via USB or download it onto the PS3 or even hook your PC up to your TV (if no one is using it). BUT, if you're running PS3 Media Server you simply open the files on your laptop through your PS3 and play the movie streamed onto your PS3.

If there was any quality drop I certainly didn't notice it. Its so easy - I love it!

Isn't this similar to the Windows media center? So far I have been lazy to look into it. I have the BR player and the computers on the same router. Could I send a movie streamlined from a website to the BR player and watch it on the big screen with Media Center?

Well basically isn't it just data sharing via a wireless network? I have my desktop set up so that either the laptop or PS3 can access the media files, allowing me to listen to any of my music from anywhere while storing the data centrally.

Synchronization has gone a long way in just the past 5 or 6 years. In fact - I'd argue that the Windows Live system is probably the best enterprise on the market. My contacts, calendar, and tasks sync on a netbook PC and Cell Phone.

Livesync keeps folders syncronized when I am away from home, between my netbook and laptop and I can access them all from third party computers on a custom website. What you're specifically referring to has existed for probably 20 years - a shared intranet is old news.

I use TVersity to stream stuff to my PS3. It's pretty cool.

That, and mkv2vob, are indispensable tools for any ps3-owning torrenter.
