permission problems

  1. Ok I kmow I I had this problem before but it's happened and I really can't figure out what to do. I this folder I can't delete in even I googled and figured out how to enable the admin account that still didn't do it.
    Please help.

    btw when I go to add and romove programs to unistall it, it says it is unable to find the log file.

    the program is fah

    Download 'Process Explorer'. It's from Microsoft Sysinternals - it'll be the first google hit.

    Once it loads - press CTRL-F and type the folder/file name (or part of it). Any processes that are locking it will show up.

    If it really is a permissions issue, right click the folder/files, click properties and make sure you're account is listed appropriately in the security tab - if you're admin you'll be able to override anything that might prevent you from accessing the file so you can't lock yourself out. With the above application you can identify and terminate any processes locking files of interest.

    Strictly speaking, this isn't really computer science - but we don't have an IT forum (I for one wouldn't visit it, anyway!).
