Stands currently at 986298.

Yes, when I checked it was 991,230 seconds till New Years.

Divided by 60 (seconds) = 16,520.5 Minutes
Divided by 60 (minutes) = 275.34 Hours
Divided by 24 (hours) = 11.47 Days

I wonder if anyone will be sad enough to check that on New Years Eve, just after midnight.

Maybe it's a coded warning countdown, like Jeff Goldblum's computer in Independence Day, and when it reaches zero, he says 'Time's up!' and a bunch of landmarks explode and the Fresh Prince and Harry Connick Jr. fly past and blow some more stuff up and that guy from Taxi mumbles in hebrew and and and... *nurse administers medication* ...and... and... an... *collapses*

 

Perhaps Google has spent all its Billions developing an atomic bomb.

The lesson to be learned here is that programmers do strange things when they are bored.

 

Incidentally from that: Happy Birthday Newton. (okay so he's a little dead, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind)

 

Today's Issac Newtons Google doodle was the first animated doodle I've ever seen - surprised me!

 

They must allow their programmers to devote about 1k to it.
Now that's lean programming.
