I'll commit to the "truth" that by the measurements of this test, blacks have lower IQ's. I'm not sure this test is 100% accurate or that it's 100% reliable in the measurement of any person's overall IQ.

You're question, to me, is like measuring the circumference of two men's arms. Upon discovering that man A's arms are bigger than man B's you make the statement that man A is stronger. This may be true. It may be false. While bicep size is a solid indicator of strength, there are other factors that should be considered, which heretofore may not have been considered. I am willing to admit that, by your measurement, Man A has bigger arms. As to the fact that man B is weaker, I'd like to see more definitive tests.

Moreover, and most importantly, I'm stating that just because Man B has smaller arms, and potentially weaker arms, doesn't indicate that Man B is somehow lesser or that Man A should have special privileges.

It just so happens that males have slightly larger brains than females and demonstrably higher cognitive functions on most tests, especially concerning mathematics. But this is not 100% true, 100% of the time. Nor is it an accurate indicator of leadership qualities or success qualities. There are, as it would appear, significant other factors to consider.

People and races are different. But it is wrong to treat them on the basis of differences alone.

As String said, Intelligence is not the decider of human worth. Whether to be thankful for that I don't know. But I do know that it is not one aspect of a race that defines it.

I find it curious that so many people had to qualify their opinions (myself included). Is there no place even on an anonymous internet forum that a frank discussion of race can occur ?

 

Thats called political correctness, its the belief that remarking on a graph accurately can make you a racist.

 

I think that sometimes political correctness is often confused with politeness. For example, If I qualify my opinions by stating my subjectivity, I'm being polite.
but If I change my opinion on the basis of not trying to offend someone, that's being politically correct.

No. It's called being human and having advanced morality. It was one of the last things to evolve and the critical survival skill which, hopefully, will win out over our ancestral inclinations to destroy those who are different, and even on some occasions, lesser than us. This applies equally in men's relationships to females (physically weaker). To the handicapped (weaker in variable ways). The elderly and children.

I think they are just regular people

I am a physician's assistant, and I see black people like any other people, if I have to say something negative about then is they are very sensitive about their race, and their culture probably keep them at lower rates in everything. I also see low class white guys, and they are probably very low intelligence and very aggressive and real hard to deal with. I think there is not human group you may call inferior than another. Chinese my be big achievers, but that is not the truth with the whole race, I see them in my clinic, and they are the same, than the other group. What I have to say if not about individuals but about cultures, I have experience with three cultures the Germans, Jewish and the Japaneses culture, and individuals from those culture are usually really organized mentally and they have an average of high personal culture/intelligence. If we go with Intelligence individuals of all cultures have different degree. so you can not measure it in a race group, but in individuals. Now if you ask me who are the prettiest people, I have to say, Americans in general (white, blacks, latinos) second in the same category I have the Italians and the Germans. So this question has a multifactorial answer. but we can not generalize about blacks being dumb, because you can not prove such statement and the statement itself is false. Thanks... GB

Additionally, there is no denial that there are some very bright and intelligent black folks and they should not be prejudged by the color of their skin or any other physical feature.

And in a few decades when we start manipulating our genetic code, who will care? Who cares now? I certianly do not care. I think the whole discussion is worthless unless one wants to incite race tensions.

 

Those who care are those on the receiving end...usually.

Racial tensions are forever present because it suits certain agendas to have tension between certain groups. Tension if not addressed can lead to civil unrest and outright wars..... but again this suits those with particular agendas.

Just out of curiosity...why is it always black vs. white? Why is it that, when comparing IQ scores between races, it's always blacks vs whites. What about blacks vs latinos? Or whites vs. asians?

It seems like everytime someone has some sort of political or social agenda they take a bunch of meaningless statistics and seperate them based on race and some how it always comes down to who is smarter, blacks or whites?
