... are just crazy. From the Garrido news: "Police say Garrido's storage unit looked like a scene from a porno film. Garrido confessed to rape and was sent to Leavenworth Prison in Kansas. Even from inside the penitentiary, Garrido convinced a woman, Nancy Boconegra to marry him. She has stayed with him to this day." But seriously... Here is his blog, nowadays all criminals have a blog, it seems: http://voicesrevealed.blogspot.com/
Its good to get women like this out of circulation, some really nice guy might meet her where she'll go on to mistreat him for not being a strong abuser. A few of the serial killers have also seemed to find sympathetic women to marry.
Yeah, like men never make stupid decisions over women. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Well sure, we rescue women who are drowning, or trapped in a burning building, or being mugged. They rescue men who have never developed social skills, or can't get up when the alarm clock rings to get to work on time, or don't care if their clothes are clean, or commit crimes. We rescue women who have bad luck: damsels in distress. They rescue men who can't take care of themselves: babies.
Why on earth this lady did not escape ?. I mean she was abducted at 11 years of age but she stayed 18 years there . I am sure that she had many occasions to escape if she wanted to do so . She got used to a rapist, abductor and a very dangerous criminal ......Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! .
It’s not a unique situation, not by a long shot. There’s some complex psychology behind it all, especially when there are children involved (as she was when she was kidnapped) who are still undergoing their mental development. I doubt anyone really knows the answer. You’ve probably heard phrases like Stockholm Syndrome being used in such discussions. That’s part of the answer.
Most serial kidnappers/killers are also master manipulators, but that's no excuse. Another example is Canadian serial killer Paul Bernardo. His wife helped him drug, rape, and kill her own young sister, in addition to numerous others. She was released in 2005 after serving only 10 years because people believed her sob story that she was "afraid of him" and that's why she complied with his requests. She was involved in each kidnapping and even participated in the sexual assaults. If people's minds are so weak that they could be manipulated into harming others than they should not be set free into society. I hope Nancy Garrido isn't given a slap on the wrist.
I can't see why a woman should have to be crazy to marry a serial killer. I don't see the logic in that at all. Not at all.
If you need to play saviour, pick some anxious, neurotic, young chap who writes depressing poetry. They mature into bright, old chaps, and they're good with kids. They tend to be creative, conscientious lovers. I can vouch for all of that. But don't marry a demented serial killer. It's not worth it.
Well, in any event, it's for the best to keep them isolated from the rest of society. Nothing personal against them because it's not like they've done anything against me. But I'd just as soon keep that kind of loony at arm's length. I would decidedly prefer they refrained from reproduction. Again, nothing personal. Just self-preservation and all that.
Men who can't take care of themselves is a rather large category: men who never seem to get doctor's appointments, men who never talk about their feelings - and drop dead at 50 - men who work until they drop, men who don't know how to talk to their children and think rules are communicating, men who are afraid they are sexually inadequate (despite years of reassurance), men who think eating meat, bread and dessert is a well rounded diet. There are parallels on a political level also, but if I mention those it will suddenly seem like I am claiming women are perfect. But the ongoing rescue operation women are committed to in relation to men is extensive and is not limited to 'babies' unless we are all ready to notice how many babies there are.
something like that. My college roommate got her masters in Social Work. All 3 of her husbands had issues. #1 - unfaithful alcoholic #2 - unfaithful assaulting rapist #3 - oh lord, where to begin....but at least he's faithful. I think that's why women pick men in jail. You know where he's at, he's not cheating on you, he's not blowing the rent money on booze/drugs, he's not hitting you, and he needs you.
The thing is. You don't always know where he's at, and he could be cheating on you. There are secret undercover missions within that grey little secluded area and whores, plenty of whores.
People stay with natural parents who are just as bad as that or worse. I'm sure every one of us knew at least one kid with a family situation that made us scream, "Why doesn't he just run away?" We all have weaknesses and some of them are so bad that they destroy our lives--or make it easy for someone else to do so. It's just not possible to do someone else's emotional algebra for them. There's no way we can say with certainty that what some other person is getting out of a bizarre relationship isn't filling them with emotions that make them feel better. Remember that a lot of people have things in their own past that they consider shameful, so they spend the rest of their lives doing penance. Huh??? That IS a well-rounded diet! The pizza-and-chocolate diet: mental health food. You don't consider being butt-fucked by the alpha dog cheating? America's prisons have been called "the HIV incubation network."
