No, voyager wouldn't - for the simple fact that she'd have no idea what she'd be running into (literally) since you are blind while in hyperspace without explicate maps.

Why is it ridiculous? The holodeck manipulates matter and energy using technology similar to a transporter and tractor beam to make everything look, smell, taste, sound, and, most importantly, FEEL real. Thing is, if you disable the safeties, then that holographic bullet/knife/sword/fall from 500 feet will kill you just the same.

Booya... that should stick a huge wrench in a strategy... that's what I was saying about immobilizing them. I said before - you send a ship into Trek territory, you'd be lucky if you get it back.

    the ds1 is 120km and the ds2 160km
    ds1 recharge superlaser = 1 hour
    ds2 recharge 2minutes the exhaust vest was replaced by millimeterwide heat dispersion ducts;

    ds1 15000 tl's and 700 tractorbeams (able to even trap a ssd) 7000tie's
    ds2 35000 tl's 1000 tractorbeams and if finished 12000tie's

these are the official Lucasfilm numbers

the rebels jumped out right infront of the ds2

oh wait i'll pull a trekkiemanouver we never saw a problem or there was never mentioned a gravity problem ONSCREEN so there isn't any

Hey, that's just what they said in the movies and EU - you can't use hyperspace near gravity wells. Makes sense considering how interdictors work *shrugs* It wouldn't take much to modify a Starship Tractor beam, Deflector Dish, or Shield Grid to act the same as an Interdictor Basin.

To take it a little further...a holodeck utilizes pared down matter conversion and tractor beam technologies. Without safeties, a holodeck has the potential to materialize small matter (like a bullet) inside a player's body.

A fall from 500 feet has nothing to do with the holograms btw...a falling player would still land on a metal deck if the safeties don't hold him in a tractor beam. Just quantifying, I know that you meant to reference a lack of safeties rather than danger from the actual holographic projections.

Actually, they have had people fall and break bones on the show in the holodeck - not entirely sure how that works tbh...

Figure those examples were Worf-like folks who needed adventure with the safeties off.

Watching some Voyager Series 2... that psychic/telepathic species - at the end he says "...but you see... Im not really here" and he and his ships all disappear.
Was he using trek's more advanced and enhanced, new and improved equivalent of a Jedi mind trick? lol
That fool had an entire ship hallucinating so pretty certain he could help take care of the Empire, and they couldn't even shoot him or destroy his technology. Safe to say, a heads up psychic battle would be futile unless your name is Kes. Of course SW fanboys will say there's some species in a book or Canon or some SHIT that could take him down, and if they want to go there, we'll bring Q for backup.

Always some book they have to dig in, or some specs made up for the purpose of refining the exactness for some game... which is understandable. I, too, would be trying to make my old gay movies stand the test of time... and milk it for everything its worth. And I'd be mad cuzz Trek has a more accepted science and is taken far more seriously and there are actual ships named 'Enterprise'. Yeah, Id be feeling that 'epic fail' if I had a franchise that was so huge... but just not the biggest or best. lol

[edit] Speaking of Kess, and the Ocampa that left with the female Nacene (caretaker)... Put them against the Jedi and let the Borg jack a few idiots for some ISDs and they can go toe to toe while the Federation diplomats discuss why the Empire cant join. LOL "Quit whining, imperial bitches!! You can can apply again next year, but you gotta keep your noses clean! And even then, your admittance will be on a probationary period..."

euh Star Trek is as gay as you can get
of course St has more accepted science. they have a least 10 times the amount of screentime. Return of the Jedi was in the eightiest ffs. and the others are Prequels. so the tech can't be more advanced.
Enterprise is a vessels name since 1700's not thanks to ST :bugeye: fcol

Pretty dumb if you ask me. what employer allows his personel to get hurt willingly ?? bypass the security and you got the perfect murder.

Im not a fool, you are because you assumed I meant ST was the reason for vessels being named enterprise and it it wasnt. I didnt imply that either. All I said is there actually are ships with that name.

what a fail, Vasago. You tried putting words in my mouth and made yourself look stupid calling me a fool.

    okay sorry for misreading that.

:bugeye: You go from 'rediculous because u can get killed' to 'dumb that an employer allows personnel to hurt themself willingly' and now you're arguing its not enough the employer has safeties in place to prevent this, because the person can hack them. Your argument seriously needs focus. First, if somebody has a death wish, they don't need a holodeck. But if they want to go B'Elanna Torres and risk their life for any reason, yeah. Same way you can get past a padlock to a gun chest or any other means of preventative obstacle. The safety is there for a reason but I'm pretty sure each person passes a class in starship protocols that earns them the trust to be in there with knowledge of how to shut the safety off.

Just accept that holodeck technology, like MANY technologies, is not devoid of danger. A lot of holodeck injury is self-inflicted, from tennis elbow or pulling a muscle, to landing off balance and twisting an ankle or dislocating a shoulder. You can fall down anywhere and break an arm if you land the wrong way.Safety protocols are in place to prevent SERIOUS injury. Something life-threatening.

Uhm, problem with that - unless you can hack the tonals of your VOICE and know the override key, you can't really hack it without opening an access panel, which sends alerts to various primary stations around the ship so everyone knows what yer doin.

Well, technically you could fall off a curb and break your neck on the side of the road - weirder shit HAS happened.
