cosmictraveler, I don`t know what window screen is, you mean mosquito screen? Don`t like it. I think it`s ugly. Makes the whole window look tacky (IMHO).

i have an awesome kitty that i need a good home for. she's beautiful. part saimese. great personality. fixed. but my other cat scooby attacks her at every given opportunity. she's submissive, even though she could kick his ass, she won't. he chased her up the stairs one day and i ran after them to find her laying on her back in a puddle of piss he scared her so bad. so until i find her a home, i have to keep her in my bedroom away from scoob. i let her outside in the evenings but still, it's not an ideal arrangement. i wish i could keep her. fucking scoob...

 

I can't have one even if there is an accessible shelter. I still live at home, and my mum doesn't want another pet..too much trouble if we want to go travelling...

I'll get one when I have my own place...

I think it depends on the cat. Imagine an 800lb tiger falling from three stories. I guarantee the thing would be fucked up.

A naive person would think an ant dropped from the Empire State Building would splat on the ground. Nope. It would be fine. Heavier things fall harder. But it is true that cats are pretty good at falling and not sustaining damage.

 

Thats because a tiger's *surface area to volume ratio* is much less than a house cat.

Larger felines fall faster!

 

I once heard a story of a cat falling I believe 13 stories into a bush and was fine.
