Hello! Please read this entire post, China is up to something evil....

Today I noticed a strange IP address on my computer. As soon as I viewed the address on my program "Active Ports," it disappeared, the only way I got it saved so I could do an IP WHO IS search was by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen.

The program lists it as unknown. The IP WHO IS search revealed that the connection came from China.

This is where I get to the specifics of my theory: I play Warcraft III on Battle.net quite often. One day my cousin and I tried to play a game over battle.net but it didn't function. We couldn't even see each other when we were in the same chat rooms!

Now recently he lost his Battle.net account with World of Warcraft. The account is just "gone."

I believe that China is hijacking internet on computers in the United States one by one. The reason I haven't had any cash disappear from paypal is because they are TAKING OVER THE WORLD. They are not going to blow their cover by stealing a few dollars from my paypal account.

HOW they are doing it? I'll tell you, I believe they have laid a bunch of fiber optic cables across the Pacific Ocean, which would be fast enough to emulate internet as though it were local.....

    Seriously.

Dude no offense, but fiber optic cables need a physical connection to your computer they cannot transmit signals.

Hmm...so you see an IP address the originates out of China...or at least appears to...so just from that, you conclude China is taking over the internet, because your cousin couldn't log in to battle.net? Wow..that's some quantum leap.

Wouldn't a more reasonable explanation be that you have a Trojan? ..or some program on your machine is checking it's update server? And for why you had problems in Battle.net... Could it be that the Battle.net servers were buggy that day? Could it be that your cousin forgot to pay his bill? or shared his login information with someone, or used a 3rd-party program that data-mined his pw?

Doesn't that make alot more since that the Nation of China taking over the internet by stealing WOW accounts?

Here's my theory. I remember a while back a Chinese diplomat stormed out of the White House really angry. Something about how we owe China many billions of dollars.

A while back I purchased a "USB to MIDI" converter, which I got off of Ebay. It never worked though! Or did it?

Then just recently I got an MP3 player for only 15 dollars, free shipping! It can record voice, play video, play music, you can increase the tempo of any audio being played... Point is, it has WAY WAY WAY more features than your common Ipod at 1/16 the price. So cheap... So f**king cheap. haha (needless to say it was built in China)

China is up to something. They are getting their revenge! I just know it!

We have superior military strength to China, so naturally they are going to rout their anger at us through computers..... Perhaps things would be different if they had a chat with Obama? I know that Georgy Bush just ignored the Chinese.....

...and they can get back their billions by hacking Wow accounts?

What does this have to do with China taking over the internet? Lot's of stuff bought off ebay doesn't work. I know..I work in the returns dept of a computer company.

So how does getting a good deal on an MP3 player have anything to do with China taking over the internet?

Sound like to me you need to start taking your medication for your paranoid schizophrenia again.

    Don't be snide.

Perhaps they aren't taking over the internet through emulation, but they are sending devices over that contain plug and play viruses.

Do note, that I couldn't even SEE my friend on battle.net. Mac and PC users are on the same servers on battle.net. I am quite damn sure of that.

"we probably owe china 1 trillion bucks"

(this was taken from yahoo answers)

You guys are idiots if you think China wouldn't get pissed off about that money. Again, our military superiority blows theirs out of the water, their anger is being SHOVED across the internet!

Bush has BORROWED millions of dollars from China.

I think China and America have a common enemy, the now fat and rich corporations of George W Bush.

And you know this.. how? How is it these plug and play viruses go undetected by the IT community in general?

So you couldn't see you friend on Battle.net....big deal...the server was probably bugged that day. It doesn't mean China is taking over the internet. Clearly, you are delusional.

Okay on one hand Diode, That's a major Conspiracy theory equal to the "Chinese Radio Conspiracy". It was some theory that certain technicians came up with back when the cold war was in it's height. The idea that every electronic product created could be create as a radio node that could piggyback other nodes, so the more products you buy, the greater the surveillance network.

Of course it was just paranoid drivel based upon "The potential threat of a Communist invasion" To be perfectly honest though, you've seen how much trouble Iraq was for the forces that went there, I don't think the US was in any immediate danger from invasion for that reason alone.

I will say however that the Chinese government is notorious for snooping on it's own people and since their products make it abroad, I would gather so does their snooping. I doubt they would collect too much information off a gamer, however If you were working in some research field with non-disclosure, it really would be a good idea to have tight protocols on what equipment you use and how you use it to be on the safe side.

Just put an intelligent firewall to your network. Most routers have APIs to do just that. Even cheap home ones have lock out mechanisms.
