You do have enough Ki, you are just not consious of it... We have an infinite suply of energy, we just are not conscious of it and therefore we cannot use it. By becoming more conscious of yourself, you are able to overcome your limits.

We are the only ones who hold ourselves back. The problem is I do not yet believe in myself.

Then get faith. We all born within the same conditions (or almost all...)...

You got that right. You hold yourself back with spiritual fantasy. Open your eyes to the beauty all around you. Do not be afraid to take the world at face value, I'm sure you'll find it's quite sufficent as is. There may be more out there, but don't rely on it...

You better... These ki balls have never had any substance in reality. I can't claim to KNOW it isn't possible, but I have NO idea why you'd devote your life to finding out, when there is no real initial evidence to start with...

Sorry, I'm a skeptic by nature. It was not my intent to offend anyone.

    notme2000,

Faith is not belief. According to the Bible, it is written in Hebrews 11 that "faith is the assurance of things which cannot be seen". If you read this sentence carefully, you will focus on two words: "assurance" and "seen". The first one means to be sure about something. To be sure about something is to know that something is true. The second one means to perceive something with your senses. It means that the intrinsic laws of the universe cannot be directly experienced, through your senses, but you still know they are there. For example, gravity. You cannot see gravity. Gravity is a law (it is true in the entire universe). The law is there, and it is beyond your senses. You know that gravity is there because you can see the results of it. In the same way, when you pray for something and you have faith in it, you can see it happening. Faith is the application of the Law. Faith is also the knowledge of the Law, Faith is True Wisdom. It s to know things that are beyond yourself, and to know them naturally. There is no fantasy in that. Faith in myself don't hold me back, it pulls me forward. Lack of Faith in myself is what really holds me back.

For those things there is evidence. When you try to do those balls and have Faith that they exist, then it happens. Empty certainly have Faith in them, otherwise he wouldn't expect to ever get them. The same with Faith itself. There IS evidence for Faith. In Philipians 4:8 it is clearly stated "and the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your heartsand your minds in Christ Jesus."

No, it's a belief. Athiests are sure there is no God, does that mean they know it's true, or that they believe it's true?
And in my book it clearly states "Have faith in reason". What makes your book any better (or worse) than mine? Value? You value your beliefs and I value mine.

I must hand it to you, you know what you believe and why. I respect that.

    To know is false.
Because one does not really 'know' anything. Nothing is certain, theres always an element of uncertainity in everything, theres always possible ways one could be wrong. So things are either more or less certain and when one can be 99.9% certain creationists are wrong (neigh delusional) you might as well say they are.
But the only way to be right, and to know for sure is to understand uncertainities.
Only those who are wrong, or perhaps just easily misguided will ever say they are 100% certain about something.

I'm what one would call an 'atheist' since i disagree with convientional theology. However calling someone like myself a atheist is almost like calling someone with dark skin a 'n*gger'.
I'm not non-spiritual but my spirituality is highly disciplined. Basicly, I know religion is pretty much a mental illness. Intense and devout beliefs are bad emotions like angers and fears, although natural.
(Hate to be poetic but...) for breif momments when the clouds of religious feelings that seem to cloud the human mind part I can just catch a glimpse of a greater reality free from passion. Its a intellegent mental state beyond any ':m:' experiences

I don't expect to get there. I wouldn't mind getting there if that is reality. But I will not create it. If it works in the real world and can be preformed then sure. If it exists only in a fantasy world then no.

This is not a faith debate...This is not about the bible our atheists this is a thread for martial artists. Take your god does or doesn't exist debates else where.

    notme2000,

It is just that it is not a belief for me anymore. I know it now. I experienced it, as well as I experience this conversation.

And Empty is right... let's stop...

So what results have you come up with? Knocking things over with your minds energy?

Or the art of intense concentration?

Are you sure that the body will follow? In what way? Because motivation (mind) will make you exercise (body)? Or in a more mystical way?

What I understand by internal arts is, soft flowing body movments un-inhibided by muscular tensions. They have a very high focus on Ki-gong and mind training. You know the high end training of external arts. In internal arts that is what you usually start with (EI: Rooting, concentrations...).

    What? Some internal thing?

I don't really know much about them myself. I am starting with a new teacher who apperently can do it. I will let you guys know if he can acctualy do it.

I learned just enough hand to hand in the army to later get the shit beat out of me by some big ass redneck in a barroom brawl.
