Making Shakespeare likable again..

    I don't like shakespeare.
    I think he's pretentious.. Who is he to define the human condition..

    But ..
    I appreciate his characters, particularly Hamlet.
    But I hate Shakespeare.. Because of his time, completely unreasonable, yet unavoidable.

    I think that really, schools should stick to modern english versions of the play, rather than force students to read the original text.
    Yes, we know, it can dilute meaning.. But i cannot give a rat's ass about something if I can't understand what it's saying.
    You can't receive a gift if it's not wrapped as a gift, or if the person isn't smiling. Making shakespeare understandable will help. A lot.

    I totally agree with you. But yes Hamlet is nice.
