This is what I'm getting my Mom. The key chain one. Then I'm getting the charms for us 3 kids. Me (ladybug) brother (USAF) and youngest brother ?????. I have no idea. Maybe the blue baby feet since he has 5 sons. What does CTR mean?? Maybe I could get that charm for him. So, what are you getting your Mom??
Bookmarked. That is a cool site! My mom is getting what I give her every year. Petunias. She already got her hanging plant since they were on sale and gorgeous.
I'm hoping for gerber daisies. I have my planter on the porch all ready for them Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I'm just going to remember some very fond memories of my mom who died 5 years ago. That way , to me, I keep her always alive in my heart. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I'm just going to agree to whatever she asks of me. Can't be bothered getting presents, so I'll try being nice..
I've never really paid attention to the whole Mothers Day thing. I've always kinda just waited for my sister or brother to get my mom a gift and sign my name on it.
Mother's Day is the day when my mother 'phones and says, "Don't worry, I put out the last card you sent me. When you were five".
Okay. This is how I know I am not adopted. I call my mom and say, "I'm at the store getting stuff. Do you want a card or Ben & Jerry's?" She goes, "You get me cards every damn year. Get ice cream." Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
My mother died in 1998 at age 87. Unforgiven and unloved, I'm sorry to say, but we all make our own choices about how we treat the people we claim to love and we all accept the payback for it. I learned from her misfortune; I don't know if I could be a better parent than she was, with her (and my father who was arguably even worse and died unloved by absolutely everyone) as role models, but I had the good sense not to try it. Since my wife and I are separated by 3,000 miles due to my job, my dogs are sending their Momma a nice flower arrangement. Costco recently started shipping bouquets for major holidays and they do their usual stellar job. I sent her one for Easter. She raved about the selection and the arrangement, they lasted two weeks in the mild northwestern California climate, and for Costco's price including shipping, as the family CFO she didn't chide me for spending too much on something so frivolous. Not all parents want the same thing. Some would appreciate a night off from cooking or housework (not simply putting it off till tomorrow but actually doing it for her). Some would be happy just to get a visit, even if they have to cook. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
This morning I actually drew my mother a card as hurriedly as I can sketch. It says, "Happy Mother's Day! Mummy gets nothing; don't bother asking! Love, Tak and the stupid cat." (She got her gift earlier this month.) Then I drew my cat killing a bird. The cat is saying, "Who's the stupid cat now? Deth to awl infidel burdz! Hahahaha!", while another speech bubble from the cat says, "I dunno why I am on this crappy 'card.' You're not MY mom!" The bird is saying, "I die." I have a weird sense of humor.
