I do believe Mitchell when he states that he was told that there was an alien craft. Still, that does not state that he has anything other than a story told to him.

In your cute post you mentioned that crafts were doing 7000mph. That makes for roughly 2 miles per second. That sonic boom would have been staggering! I don't think you realize how hard it is to match up visuals and radar especially with these speeds involved. What year does this take place.

I know Kehoe's book is old. So let's find out how radar of that era works. Suppose that the radar rotates once in 5 seconds. That's quick. A 7000mph craft has jumped 10 miles. If the radar rotates once in 10 seconds. The craft has jumped 20 miles. So how do you know that the object made a right angle turn? How do you know that widely separated blips are in fact the same object?

As a fan of space missions and a poster on Dr. Mitchells old board I can assure that Dr. Mitchell admits this openly. He believe that ETs have visited but has only hearsay evidence.

Do you think a person, who just saw a UFO, feels like they can tell their story without sounding a little crazy to themselves as well? Add on top hardcore criticizers like yourself and of course they are not going to talk about it, for fear of appearing 'abnormal' or 'crazy'. (And what are we trained socially to do with 'different'? We generate false feelings of superiority to validate our positions) When it comes to culture, different = bad, and UFO's are very different.

We get the few reports we do from the few people willing to stick their necks out. And as you have aptly observed these are the people with "less to lose" and thus appear "less credible".

Interesting claim from someone who does not post evidence.

The truth in fact is that electrafiction posted an unsubstantiated lie as evidence. Leopold99 has posted his evidence which I have disputed especially with regards to astronauts and UFOs. I included a statement from a well known UFO believer that disputes astronauts seeing UFOs.

Unlike the troll electrafiction, Leopold99 has produced another piece of evidence. This clearly distinguishes these two. I did try to find the Kehoe book in the local libraries. No luck so far. I will continue to look.

 

I'll have to do a little more research here but it seems that Captain Kenju Terauchi reported a UFO while flying over Alaska less than a year after the incident mentioned in the link. The 2 year date does not seem to be correct.

 

The Captain was flying 2 months later and reported another UFO over Alaska. He withdrew that claim. The November 1986 incident was the captain's third report of a UFO.
