I thought it was very good, loved what they did with the opening credits and the Comedian death scene.

The only things I didn't like were the rushed last act and the stupid prison fight scene (pointless). Note sure why Zach chose to go big on the gore....?

All in all 163 minutes well spent and I still love the comic.

I think think the nimiety of blue penis was there for a reason. It is a poart of Manhattan's increasing disconnect from his former human condition.

Cold no longer bothers him, shame at showing his junk is not something he considers and even the appreciation that it may disconcert others around him is simply something outside his notice. In a sense, as Doctor Manhattan becomes less and less human, psychologically speaking, he cares less and less about his blue penis interfereing with how much you (and other humans) enjoy the film. To him, walking around naked in front of humans is like a human walking around naked in front of household pets, what we think is not something that it occurs to him to care about, or even ponder.

The sex scene with Silk Spectre II was more gratuitous in my opinion (if more enjoyable), whereas the blur penis had a solid reason behind it (though less enjoyable).

    Good show

A far better film than I expected. That much I can say. Beyond that, not sure.

    I'm on the fence, too.

I liked parts of it, didn't like others.

I do think, in retrospect, that the hype surrounding the Watchmen is a little overblown. By that I mean that coming across it years later, I'm not as blown away as I was when I encountered it as a youth, so the unflinching loyalty the filmmakers showed wasn't always appreciated. In some ways, it could be cleaned up. But then every film can...

I wouldn't care about having a blue penis as much as blue balls.

I wanted more blue bum and penis, only so I could nudge my girlfriend and giggle like a schoolboy.

The first act was unbearable. I saw three different couples walk out during the first hour. Just when I was about to leave the second act kicked in and I was sold. The ending was absolutely magnificent. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's sad that it tanked in the box office. IMO they showed to much content before hand.

How exactly did you actually like the ending?
I thought the ending was the worst part of the movie.

I still need to watch this movie. Only read the comics at the moment. Is it good or meh?

It's meh. And they changed the ending for theatrical continuity.

I also thought the ending was the worst part of the movie. And I don't know if it was because of the actors (a few were awful) or the very little time spent on the characters, but i didn't feel anything for any of the characters save for Rorschach. He was the only one with any depth at all.

    ****SPOILER ALERT****

The reason I liked the ending is because it's wasn't the same ending that you see in most hero movies. Rorsach was the hero, and he died, and the villian actually won. That was very refreshing to me.

    Rorschach was the hero?
One of the points I got from the comic (and the film) is that there aren't any heroes.

I am sure he just meant "protagonist."

You think he was a villain?

Meh, I should have added "... or villains" to my original reply.

I won't be going to a theater to see it & won't pay much for the DVD.
1 of the greatest pieces of literature & they screwed it.
    Wish I could've been the writer/director/producer.
