Come on, let's hear it. I know my government is evil, and John Howard is a whore to US trade. So, in what ways is Ausrtalia the heart of evil? Gimme your best shot.
I never said that Australia was evil, Adam. It was an example. You didnt even take the time to read my response.
Ah well, I'll start: - During WW2, Z-Force murdered about 4,000 Japanese POWs. - During the first, say, 150 years of Europeans being here, we slaughtered and enslaved heaps of natives. - Australia supports wars for trade deals. - Australia treats refugees like crap. - Australian ships often simply run over small boats in those south east Asian straits, killing people or leaving them without their method of earning a living.
wrong crowd adam. Australia may not be that evil if you will stop criticizing patriots and start believing in every thing they tell you.
Land of Evil? I wouldn't go as far as you have, Adam, but I appreciate the attempt at dialogue. I've put up a topic about Australian military involvement in the upcoming Iraqi Bush War (click here). A general overview tells me that Australia is much like the US, with the people repeatedly electing and endorsing officers who don't respect the views of the people. If the Australian people would go so far as to characterize this as part of American evil, then yes, Australia is a land of evil. thanx, Tiassa Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Actually, Adam, He hasnt hit much on the head at all. He's made an assumption that the majority of Australians don't want us involved in any conflict with Iraq. You've led him to believe he's right. Mutual forum back scratching doesn't make a thing true.
Squid Vicious I know one Australian who wants this war, personally. My father. Nobody else I know wants it. If you read through Australian message boards, or tour a university, you won't find many Australians who support this war. It's not about back-scratching. I disagree with Tiassa on many things. I simply agree with him in this instance.
Actually it seem pretty close to 50-50 from what I've seen. And seriously, Adam, if you walk through a university to get a general opinion on Australian attitudes then you're going to end up with a pile of horseshit. No offense to uni students here, but if you got them all together, handed out some flyers and started a rally you could probably get them all riled up to return Australia back to its original Indonesian owners, or have Tasmania declared part of New Zealand. Nobody said anyone wants a war Adam. You'd make a good journalist. What half of us think is that it may be necessary. There's some difference there. Actually, even that may be wrong. The vast majority of those asked would give a response based on an emotional level, without thinking first and without having much knowledge of the situation.
Squid Vicious Well, yes, I would have to agree that most responses are emotional, and agree about the university bit. But those are the opinions I have access too. I could walk around the local shops and ask people, but most people are morons who only believe "Saddam is bad, mmkay". Actually, I may do just that; print a simply question and post it all around the local shopping area. "Should the USA invade Iraq?" It won't cost me anything.
