I can understand that a lot of you are mad about the upcoming war with Iraq. This is what I say to all of you, shut up. Stop calling Americans stupid, lazy, uneducated, racists, unfair, unjust, etc. We have no choice. It is the presidents decision whether or not to go to war. I have no say in it, if I did then we wouldn't even have UN inspectors in Iraq right now. All you people from other countries who bash the USA say something creative. Don't bring up Hiroshima, don't bring up Dresden. Don't mention the fact that America gives billions in foreign aid every year. Also, I don't think that any of you foreigners have the right to say that America is a racist land. You don't live here. You might of visited here, but ya don't live here. I will be the judge of whether or not this is a racist country because I live here. So in other words, stop your whining. You don't have the power to stop it, and neither do I.
Yeah, people should just shut up when they see something wrong. Like if the government brings in new laws so all Jews should wear stars. Or if those guys in brown shirts start burning books. Just shut up and deal with it. Don't talk about it. Don't complain. And whatever you do, don't believe you have a say in anything. Stay away from those voting offices.
Adam that is not what I meant. Dont twist my words. Talk about the war all that you want. But when you start calling americans racist, and such then shut up.
Whatever. Let them believe as they will. It reflects badly on them, not us. I doubt half of them even give a damn. More relish the idea of a fight, yes? Moderator edit
Screw that. If you see a problem - such as Bush lying his arse off - rant about it. I was published in our leading newspaper two days ago (although the bastard editor removed much of the material, including all mention of gerbils). Why sit quietly?
Coffee's problem is that you bash Americans as Americans, not because of their ideals but because of their geography.
Adam, in America even the stupid people are allowed to have opinions. Unlike in Australia where you kill all of your aborigines.
No, Im not. Ive actually wanted to go on vacation in Australia for the past decade. I was proving a point. All countries have done something bad, so why bring it up? And then blame it on the USA? I mean God, blame the whole Nazi thing on us even though we saved everyone. Blame us for Hiroshima even though we saved lives by bombing it. No other country has the guts to do what we do, or else Australia would be on top, not America. *EDIT* Yeah. I forgot about the refugees to.
Goofyfish I get the feeling that those who say "dropping the nukes actually saved lives" are doing so to basically hide from the truth. Rather than accept that it was a truly horrible terrorist act, and their country is responsible, they try to force themselves to believe it was in fact a humanitarian act, so they can avoid any feelings of guilt and remorse.
the most important battles were won before Americans went into the field the only real help was that of products and dollars to England.
actually it is quite funny/entertaining to watch- all world bashing and hating the USA I couldn't have imagined that in 1995
It doesnt matter, it happened before my generation. The people responsible for this are all dead. Maybe if this was 1945 or so, then we could have a rational debate, but its not so drop it. Why would I feel guily about something I had no control over? And another thing, Australia was committed to practically every predominant war in the last century, including the Vietnam war, so quit being so melodramatic - you had a hand in this tragety also.
Stupid people are allowed to have opinions in Australia too, Coffee. You can witness that here on these boards. And, saying that we kill all our aboriginies is like saying you kill all your "Native Americans".

Humanitarian? I don't think so. Dropping the bomb traded thousands of Japanese lives for thousands of American ones. It's a fairly simple equation, and one that most people having a war tend to aim for. It helps you win it, you see. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
