its not an idiocy, its a right move by a moral company. I will now enjoy eating kellog cereals because I know they are fighting against illegal drugs. They are making sure our children are not learning the wrong way.

Kellogg... Ozzie and Harriet don't exist anymore, so why are you still trying to sell them products?

I am too, but it's mainly because Generall Mills has better cereal anyway.

While I support one's right to do whatever the hell they want in their own private time, I understand why Kelloggs is doing this. They are well within their rights. That said, I still hope their unwillingness to renew Phelps' sponsorship comes back and bites them in the ass.

"All people who live subject to other people's laws are victims. People who break laws out of greed, frustration, or vengeance are victims. People who overturn laws in order to replace them with their own laws are victims. (I am speaking here of revolutionaries.) We outlaws, however, live beyond the law. We don't merely live beyond the letter of the law--many businessmen, most politicians, and all cops do that--we live beyond the spirit of the law. In a sense, then, we live beyond society. Have we a common goal, that goal is to turn the tables on the nature of society. When we succeed, we raise the exhilaration content of the universe. We even raise it a little bit when we fail." ~Tom Robbins from 'Still Life with Woodpecker'

Kellogg's gets dumped down the drain

An interesting piece from The Business Insider:

When Kellogg announced it would not renew its endorsement contract with Olympic medalist Michael Phelps after a photo of the athelete smoking pot surfaced, it may have cost the food company its sterling reputation, reports company reputation index Vanno.

Out of the 5,600 company reputations Vanno monitors, Kellogg ranked ninth before it booted Phelps. Now it's ranked 83. Not even an industry-wide peanut scare inflicted as much damage on the food company's reputation.
