If you want to talk about quantum computers perhaps the more appropriate place to do it is the computer science forum. This forum contains a lot more content than string theory too...
If I want to talk about QM, I'll say whatever I bloody want to, OK? Since you all do, you know? The Physics & Math forum is only allowed threads that don't mention a particular contemporary QM theory; but since we haven't done anything with it yet according to the resident ideologist, please don't bother. Then there's the painfully obvious issue that most posters are somewhere between high school, and the Keanu Reeves version of science.
don't let it bother you so much..... it is easy to have patience with small children because we can understand their knowledge is limited. many just look behind their desk and as long as an institution gave them approval (a degree), then often what anyone has to say means nothing to them; because they are in the club, they have been accepted by who they find credible. DO what is right in YOUR choices and perhaps spark interest to the minds of the few 'thinking' .... Try not to square up with the mods as then you have no chance within their regime.... but in time, if you have sound arguments, the tide will change. These forums are for you to develop your mind, your integrity and your education.... the rest will fall into place if you just be straight and not allow your emotions to take over. Really think about it; if YOU are correct, then 'their' whole education would be worthless, so of course they going to defend themselves. (it's natural) As well, even if you were willing to put the 'perfect' math on the table, they wouldn't know what to do with it anyways. Pick your fights and think before getting bend over this environment as you cannot change it. Learn, find questions that are unique and do the homework. If you really have something you wish to discuss, PM me and let's go over them... i like people who think and rebels are usually the unbriddled thinkers.... plato, galileo, newton or even Jesus...... they were all thinking folk who saw a little clearer than the previous (they evolved) guys like you are what 'freedom' was born from....... just use your head and before getting mad........... perhaps try patience and if that don't work, do what i do...............Have pity!
According to whose point-of-view? The OP was about a certain reactionary profile I've discriminated; if you aren't polite and don't accept a judgement that: "you are wrong" gracefully, but instead start trying to point out that the judgement is in fact pedantism in action, you get dumped. The Physics & Math section sometimes looks like a cabal that tries (but fails) to protect entrenched beliefs, so it resorts to the tried&true "sweep the bloody thing under the carpet, maybe no-one will notice" tactic. And so I tend to get antsy and reactionary myself, it just sort of happens. Actually this forum has a rather preprogrammed approach. If it isn't in a textbook that one of the cabal has on their shelf, it's probably bullshit. But "that's science for ya".
