I use MS Paint to do some graphics to go along with some of my threads. It is working OK but I'm guessing that there are better options. I'm thinking "free" options, but would also consider the easiest and best packages at a good price.

Does anyone have any alternatives to Paint that they use and would recommend?

Lol, good. I was just looking at the Google links and came back to ask if anyone had tried GIMP or Paint.net. I'll try Gimp, thanks.

I personally find Paint.net more straightforward that GIMP. Everytime I try to use GIMP my screen seems it's toolbars seem to just get in my way.

That said, there are some 'fancy' things that I need to load gimp to do.... but the basics get done quicker with Paint.Net.
