    Bloody Chunk lyrics

Walking down the street, the smell of death in the air
    What a rotting stench
My imagination runs wild at what this could be
Open up the can to discover a dead body

Or what was left of one, pieces in a bag
Blood is everywhere what a retched sight
Cut up really small by a razor sharp knife
Lying in the garbage no one else knows
What I have found, what should I do
Take it to the police or make it into stew
This was an evil commited by the insane
Looking down laughing, I am the same

The sight of death drives me nuts, I must kill, to control my brain
Swept away by my lust to cause pain, mutilation is my only want
The evil inside me gives me the strength to kill at will
My life is the means to cause death in the most sinister ways

I see it in your eyes the fear that keeps me alive
I'll take it away, your life will end today
I'll leave you to rot, what a sick odor
Scream all you want, but you can't stop this horror

Tasting your life as I drink your blood
Ripping out your insides, chewing on your spleen
Dead or living flesh is what I crave
I'll kill someone or eat from a grave

    Pink Floyd - Poles Apart
Did you know...it was all going to go so wrong for you
And did you see it was all going to be so right for me
Why did we tell you then
You were always the golden boy then
And that you'd never lose that light in your eyes

Hey you...did you ever realise what you'd become
And did you see that it wasn't only me you were running from
Did you know all the time but it never bothered you anyway
Leading the blind while I stared out the steel in your eyes

The rain fell slow, down on all the roofs of uncertainty
I thought of you and the years and all the sadness fell away from me
    And did you know...

I never thought that you'd lose that light in your eyes

Pink Floyd - Your Possible Pasts

They flutter behind you your possible pasts
some brighteyed and crazy some frightened and lost
a warning to anyone still in command
of their possible future to take care
in derelict sidings the poppies entwine
with cattle trucks lying in wait for the next time

Do you remember me? how we used to be?
don't you think we should be closer?

She stood in the doorway the ghost of a smile
haunting her face like a cheap hotel sign
her cold eyes imploring the men in their macs
for the gold in their bags or the knives in their backs
stepping up boldly one put out his hand
he said, " I was just a child then now I'm only a man"

Do you remember me? how we used to be?
don't you think we should be closer?

By the cold and religious we were taken in hand
shown how to feel good and told to feel bad
and strung out behind us the banners and flags
of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags

Do you remember me? how we used to be?
don't you think we should be closer?

    The Eagles - Hotel California

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair,
Warm smell of Colitas rising up through the air.
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light.
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim,
I had to stop for the night.
    There she stood in the doorway;
    I heard the mission bell.
And I was thinking to myself,
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell."
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way,
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say,

    ("Welcome to the Hotel California.)
Such a lovely place. (Such a lovely place.)
    Such a lovely face.
There's plenty of room at the Hotel California.
Any time of year (any time of year),
    You can find it here."

    Her mind is Tiffany-twisted,
She got the Mercedes-Benz , ungh.
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys,
    That she calls friends.
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget.

So I called up the Captain,
    "Please bring me my wine."
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here
    Since nineteen sixty-nine."
((And still those voices are calling from far away,))
Wake you up in the middle of the night,
    Just to hear them say,

    ("Welcome to the Hotel California.)
Such a lovely place. (Such a lovely place.)
    Such a lovely face.
They're livin' it up at the Hotel California.
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise),
    Bring your alibis."

    Mirrors on the ceiling,
    Pink champagne on ice.
And she said, "We are all just
Prisoners here, of our own device."
    And in their master's chambers,
    They gathered for the feast.
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast.

    Last thing I remember,
I was running for the door.
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before.
    "Relax," said the night man,
    "We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
    But you can never leave!"

Probably Coolio, but not sure. He did have those spin shots in his video before Matrix.

    • "Funeral for a Friend" by Elton John--get this party off to a good start.
    • "Mother Earth" by Mother Earth--An ancient blues tune also covered by Gov't Mule: ". . . . When it all comes down, you got to go back to Mother Earth"--a serious moment.
    • "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC--Funerals are for the living, and I want to make sure my friends have a good time!

I love "Hotel California" too, it's one of my favorite songs to sing although it was never one of my most popular performances. I'm happy to see it pop up on so many people's lists. If I could choose four, that would be up there. "Funeral for a Friend" is my wife's choice, "Mother Earth" simply has to be there because it's about the only song I like that expresses my feelings about death and besides Tracy Nelson is a hot singer, and "Highway to Hell" is the one all my friends will be expecting. They'll play it anyway.

I don't know, maybe I'll have the song 'Ammonia Avenue' (by the Alan Parsons Project) played instead of 'Politik' (by Coldplay).
