    Hello there!

Anyone has an idea why A is red for most synesthetes, and C yellow? I found this at www, tukan, extra,hu (write . instead of ,)
It is a great color-graphem syn survey where you can vote what color is each letter or number in your mind and see what many other people voted for. I thought we could discuss few of the results you can find there.

I always thought that synaesthesia varied greatly from individual to individual.

A - is soft and feminine, a light blue perhaps?
    C - a kind of yucky yellow/orange colour.

Or maybe I'm just thinking of grades.

    C is definitely yellow.
I'm not so sure A is red. My first inclination was to say blue, but it wasn't nearly as strong a reaction as C being Yellow.

I wonder how much of it has to do with pop reference - such as logos, album covers, Sesame Street, standard fonts and fridge magnets. Maybe personal references to vague childhood memories?

a wiggly yellow, and c sharp flat and red

But I think if I think about the letters tomorrow things will change. What about the rest of you, have the associations changed over the days? How do you guys visualize this anyway?

When you say 'see' what do you mean?

do you close your eyes and see the letter/ Or do you get a feeling? Describe your experiences please.

it seems like - given the small sample they used - true syesthetes might be more consistant in the colors they associate with certain letters, while non-Ss are more likely to vary their reactions.

It's a mix of colors for me - I think that's because there are different things that are kind and each of these things add up colors

    , kind colors of course.

One person said to me once, that you need to be kind to be mean, perhaps I thought...but what should I do with that information? Perhaps nothing at all.

'A' looks sharp, so sometimes it's flat, it sounds smooth and kind of suggestive. Not sure about the taste. 'C' is soft, but always open, reminds me of salt.
