Can you feel spirits embracing our souls, a dream with secrets of darkness unfold. Let angles enfold us until we see the light.

    I don't understand this thread.

M*W: According to some modern biblical scholars and Egyptologists, Moses was indeed a pharaoh.

MW-First, did you have a nap? I know you were tired earlier. Second, I applaud you for being factual. I agree, some modern biblical scholars and egyptologists do think that. They even have plausible theories. The availability of their evidence, biased or otherwise, is somewhat lacking. As we all know, simply writing a book on a given topic does not lend strong creedence to a claim.

According to Osman. Are there others? Could you link to them?

In any case they are in the minority. Is there a reason we should trust your favorite scholar and not the majority of them?

M*W: I would agree that scholarly references are in the minority as compared to bible believers. There are other scholars to cite. I tend to site Osman, because I have all his books. A handful of others who are on the same page with Osman are:

Aldred, Cyril.: Akhenaten, Abacus, London, 1968.

Breasted, James H.: Ancient Records of Egypt, Chicago, 1906.

Fairman, H.W.: 'The Chronology of the Eighteenth Dynasty', Journal of Near Eastern Studies, vol. 25, 1996.

Freud, Sigmund.: Moses and Monotheism, London, 1939.

Gardiner, Alan H.: Egypt of the Pharaohs, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1961.

Redford, Donald B.: Akhenaten, the Heretic King, Princeton University Press, Princeton, NJ, 1984.

Weigall, Arthur.: The Life and Times of Akhenaten, Thornton Butterworth, London, 1923.

(There are many more references, but this is a start. I have not read all the references in their entirety).

That self-hating Jew Freud is the man who initiated all of this talk about him being son of Akhenaten... gotta love his Atheistic realist-postulating philosophy though 8P

"The world is empirically real at the deepest level of consciousness", great...now find joy in that.

Have you sought joy or simply settled for fairy tales ?

I was not referring to bible believers. I was referring to Egyptologists. The mainstream position is not in agreement with Osman. This does not mean he is wrong, but it should put an asterisk, at the very least, next to the ideas, especially for lay people.

People tend to find the experts who satisfy them and this phenomenon is not restricted to religious people.

If I settled on a history book I sought fairy tales, if I realized the philosophical ideals I sought joy. Now your turn, recognize the present.

M*W: The list I submitted are made up of biblical scholars and archeologists. As to their religious or non-religious beliefs, I don't believe I have encountered any bias from these authors. All the authors listed are Egyptologists.

Except Freud, of course. But still, that Moses was actually Akhenaten is not mainstream belief by secular or religious scholars.

It would be fun to convince the Jews that they need to annex egypt and reestablish the kingdom of Akhenaten, lol.

M*W: If you mean "mainstream" as in christian believers, then you are right, but if you mean "mainstream" biblical scholars and archeologists, you would be wrong.

Read some of the references I cited.

M*W: No, that's not necessary. The Hebrews, who were originally monotheistic sun worshippers, came out of Egypt ruled by Akhenaten (Moses), at least for a short time until he got his fat ass kicked out of his pharaohship and ran crying like a little girl into the desert with his ass tucked between his spindly Egyptian legs.

BTW, Akhenaten was a he-she with large breasts and wide hips and a belly like a woman. Scholars believed Akhenaten suffered from Froelich's syndrome. Coulda had something to do with the inbreeding.

Hmm. Nothing I've seen about Amenhotep IV/Akhenaten leads me to think he had Froelich's Syndrome. Particularly what images we have of him and his successfull marriages with his greater wife Nefertiti with 6 daughters and lesser wife Kiya with 2 sons, as well as taking 3 of his daughters and possibly his mother as consorts.

Also far as we know he died in office and was possibly succeeded by one of his wives for a while before being succeeded by his son Tutankhaten/Tutankhamun.
