they have no micro$oft on their machine?

I have to admit, i run XP and some Microsoft games but thats all. Dont use outlook, I€ or MSN messenger.

Almost everything on my comp is MS, i dont see why i shouldnt as well, i got the latest cygwin which has almost all the nix commands, hell it even has crontab, i got the rshd dameon from windows so i bascailly have all the things i need, i also have another machine a 233mmx which has redhat 7.1 installed, i use this for practicing php and webserving/web admin stuff so there is no need i think to use unix alone, well if you did ud be seriouly hammpered.

And about if mu copy of ms stuff is legal, well hehe thats a whole different story.

I have windows 98 on one of my computers. All legal of course.

And A very old 486 with linux on it... linux is open source right?.... I mean I did get it for free.

 

I have one linux 800 mhz computer with no ms on it. But i have my gaming computer with xp on it. Of course none of my ms software is legal...

 

M$ has such a monopoly on the computer industry that it's virtually impossible to run a PC without any part of it produced by M$.

 

I have a *cough* legal copy of Win2k but that's it.

I have no MS games as I uninstalled most of them the other week. Don't use MSN Messenger nor Windows Media Player. IE is dead in my eyes now.

I use the far superior alternatives ie Winamp3, Trillian Pro and Opera.

Yer, i dont use media player any more either. I cant uninstall that yet. Need to wait for the next service pack. Im thinking of uninstalling I€ but the thing is if i will need it again i dont have a copy.

Ub. I forgot to mention that I have legal (hehe) versions of Adobe photoshop... Completely legal (hehe). I didnt download those from no where (hehe). All of my palm pilot games are legal to... (hehe).

Yer, i have photoshop too, its alittle out dated so ill need to upgrade. Man, i thought microsoft maybe wasnt all that bad a few weeks ago...but now; i hate it. (I got wise and learned some facts about them) I really would consider getting a M$ alternative o/s, but until one of them becomes better than the rest I'll just have to stick with XP. I know Linux is getting quite good but i still feel that it is early days for them. If anyone can enlighten me or give me a link so i can read up on alternatives; it would be great. thank you!

I downloaded MP9 yesterday.

BUT before everyone scorns me, I only did it so I could find all the sound files on my PC and listen to them all so I can figure out which ones to keep and which ones to ditch.
Also, Winamp3 can't copy music files from CD's but MP9 does it quite well.

But rest assured, as soon as it has outlived its usefullness, its adios peppe!!
