No, it didn't. Would a mod please delete this thread? I'm really surprised that this thread deeply troubled at least these two members: Captain_Crunch and On Radioactive Waves. Why? Is it a pointless thread? Would you rather discuss something that makes you feel more intellectually stimulated? Look at this thread in this way, then:

1. Pretend I'm a psychologist performing an experiment.
2. The purpose of this experiment is to see what people come up with and consider what thought patterns caused them to relate this to my first post (boink!)

as secondary objectives for my experiment, let's say that I also wanted to observe:

- how many members were confused by the post
- at what point a moderator would step in and question the integrity of this thread.
- at what point after said moderator steps in, will the "loyal" members back him/her up with posts such as those made by Captain_Crunch and On Radioactive Waves

In order to maintain such an experiment, I had to provide a reason for the thread ("Not really, other than to provide a good laugh and see what others can come up with") However, the experiment has ended - I'm done with what I was observing. A moderator can feel free to delete this post, as while it certainly is a "free thought", it definitely does not contain any meaningful content, correct? Sometimes, we need to look at the world from a different perspective.


Besides, we all need to ejaculate once in a while.

 

I'm sorry if I didn't grasp the depth of intellect in this thread. I felt disappointed I looked at it, and naturally i followed the context of the thread replying with onomatopoeia to best acuratly describe my dissapointment. Just being so kind as to follow your lead.

 

Should the purpose of the word association been to determine a thought train, such should have been stated at the start. Very few outcomes will be affected by stating such at the beginning.

None of the mods here want to close threads just to show it can be done. I believe that such should be given the chance on hopes that it will develop into a reasonable thread. Lately those reasonable threads have diverged off topic within a few posts and shortly thereafter gone to trash.

This is Free Thoughts and I have been reluctant to close threads within it for that reason. I enjoy humor as well as the next member. (Though some think that is not the case.) I can support the thread with the presumption that the word association is an experiment in thought process and association. However, as mentioned before, that should be said at the start this was the objective. We still have the problem that some think any thread should have sexual overtones and we see how long it took for this one to head that way.

There is a certain level of maturity missing, something one would think that having one's words distrubited across the world would be of importance to the poster. How one is thought of and viewed on the world stage. Prehaps the level of hiding behind the facelessness of the web supports this "I can do anything and get away with it" attitude. The lack of being responcible or of not caring hallmarks the responces within this forum to what it is, that of a kiddie board. It is obvious that we have members who have no conception of how to behave in public.

We have another thread within Free Thoughts, in which the subject is the size of a woman's breasts and if medically modifing them is acceptable to our members. It has been handled with maturity, not with the one line quips that seem so rampant of late. That is a learning thread. Handled this way, there is no question that it is such and until it heads south will be left open.

 

yes, i full heartedly agree with wet 1, im not going to pretend I approve of this thread because i dont actually think you had a scientific reason to start with but made this up in justification. I dont know why you have singled on radioactive waves and I out because we are only the noisy minority dont forget there are many people who dont post and wont like this thread either. I think i speak for the majority in saying that there is enough stupid 1-3 word threads.

Please understand that it was not for the pupose of singling posters out that my comments were made. This one just happened to be there at the time. It would have been just as easy to pick another. It was from these type of threads that I was brought to make comment.

If the purpose was to wait and see how long it was before a mod stepped in, that is not a good thing to do. As such it is like saying, I am going to make trouble so let us see how long it takes before I can make it. I don't think that was your purpose and that you were using that for example only.

For those that are a problem, I normally leave a note to check their pm within their post. After the poster has done so, I remove the note. No one within this thread has recieved such a note.
