Considering i never said anything bigoted this is a very unintelligent statement, even for you. Also its racist and points. It was cold war propganda. Communism is anti-religion so we had to be the godly people.
I don't know how anyone can argue against that. It wasn't done out of love of god, but for political reasons. I don't care that god is on my money, but I sure as hell care that its in my pledge. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I know I don't say 'under god'
If you care to look I wasn't adressing your sweet heart, so don't get your panties in a bunch. Now please show some fact as to your suposition, it is only one of a thousand reasons given by various wag's as to why, ( In God We Trust ) was added to the Pledge. In God We Trust was on our coinage long before the rise of Communism.
Do you just enjoy being full of shit or something? You were quoting me in the reply and you mentioned racist comments. In god we trust isn't in our pledge the phrase is under god. If you want to have a serious adult debate try and keep your terms straight.
???. I am an adult. chronologically, mentally, and legally. When you move past insults there were moronic in the third grade, extremely biased sources, and logical fallacies come back and debate. Also the fact you have a strong tendency when called out on things to just repeat them back is rather childish. once or twice in a satirical manner i get but it shows a inability to come up with things your self when you do it as often as you do. also once again you failed to respond to why did you call me a racist?
You stuck your nose into this, and I answered your statement: The last point made was by Ganymede. and it was that rant that I made reference to: So the one full of shit is you, for sticking your nose into something that you don't have the comprehension to understand and getting your Kotex all twisted out of shape. When you have the reading comprehension of a sixth grader come back and try to debate.
So why didn't you quote him for that. i understand it fine. I have an adult level of reading comprehension, when you gain was as well as some logic skills than try and debate. My debate skills are fine.
Because you ask the question, and made reference to his post, so I fully assumed, (my mistake in thinking you had the logic to follow the conversation) that you had the comprehension to realize that I did answer your question as to Ganny's rant, and that such a rant deserved no address. Dam do you have to be spoon fed everything?
They want it banned for the same reason the Nazi flag is banned in Germany: What it represents. The Stars and Bars represents the enslavement of several million African-Americans. Did you know that showing the Nazi flag in Germany can get you a maximum three years in prison? And by the way, being suspended 40 times is a pretty strong indication that the person in question doesn't care about their education.
halo: Just like the Star Spangled Banner represents decades of imperialism, butchery, and human rights abuses?
For Christ sake people, its just a flag! A) It's a part of history and will always be no matter what you do. B) The confederate flag is no more or less offensive than the American flag or Nazi flag for that matter. People are always complaining that the Confederate flag is offensive because of oppression and slavery and blah blah freegin blah! Yes, slavery is bad. But guess what, more killings, tortures, and inhumane acts are made under the American flag every month than was EVER made under the Confederate flag. So if you're going to ban the Confederate flag, make sure you ban the American flag as well. Hell, take down the Canadian flag too, just to call it equal. If you're offended by ANY flag, THEN DON'T LOOK AT IT! Some of you people need to grow up and get over yourselves. And that's coming from a socially liberal gay man. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! The P.C., tip-toe attitude has got to stop somewhere. It's getting rediculous, people.
Klan hoods and robes are just pieces of cloth as well. But they symbolize hate, just as the flag in question does.
It is a part of history, a shameful part. As for it "just being a flag" that's true, but the question is whether it is permissible for a school to believe it likely the display of that flag would cause disruptions. If someone wore a t-shirt saying "MZ3Boy84;1997438's mom is crack whore" and a poorly photoshopped image of your mom smoking crack while giving someone a handjob, I could say "it's just a t-shirt, if you are offended by it, don't look at it." I somehow would be surprised if you then said "Yeah, when you put it that way, you're right." I'd also suggest that any school that did not suspend me for wearing it was run by incompetents.
The confederate flag represents the best america has ever been. It's not about slavery, maybe slavery helped it reach the heights it did, but it's so much more than that. It was a beautifull culture really.
Here I thought it as the South's treason, followed by their (largely successful, albeit temporarily) attempt to steal Union property for themselves. But don't you expose yourself as a funny little man...we all must bow to the desires of society, expect when we want to rebel against it. No wait, I'm sorry. You've been clear, we should *not* rebel against it, but knuckle under and let the dictator rule...right? Oh, wait, I see the truth, we should knuckle under and obey when *you,* Norsefire, happen to think we should, and rebel against society when you, Norsefire, think we should do that. Your theory of government only works if you get to be the dictator. It all makes sense now.
Whatever sins the Confederates (or for that matter, the Union) committed pales in comparison to what the U.S.A did in Vietnam alone. And let's not forget than the Union didn't exactly treat the negroes with respect and dignity. Lincoln himself wanted to expel them from the States. I see all this bitching to be a knee jerk reaction by the politically correct.
