Did I use AAAAAAAAAAARGH as my tag in the past? I can't remember, but it was either 'Adrenalin is Unladylike' or 'Raped behind the eyes'.

I would argue it's more a matter of culture than anything.

Arousal, at least some form of it, is related to taboos, and women's breasts are taboos for us.

At one point a woman's ankle was considered taboo, and probably elicited the same response a breast does today.

I'm a butt man anyway. Just can't get enough of my wife's butt. Her breasts are nice, but that's just who I am. I see them all the time and I know what works for me. It's not taboo anymore because we see each other all the time.

I never get tired of looking at attractive women's faces or legs, parts which are not taboo to expose in our culture. The arousal factor differs little for me between an attractive woman in a bikini or swimsuit, or completely nude.

In a tropical climate, where clothing is scanty or nearly non existent, the exclusive association that we tend to have of nudity=sex will of course fade away. But I guarantee the men will still enjoy looking at an attractive young woman, and she will still inspire thoughts of sex in her observers. As Cynthia Heimel once observed, "Men are lookist."

Yes, the great phallus is active, and the womb is passive...or 'receptive' if that sounds better.

Ever notice how male fantasy characters always wield some sort of phallic symbol. The priest and his scepter, the wizard and his staff, the knight and his sword...these are all symbols of the active principle.

Many of the great myths revolve around the attainment of manhood, symbolized in the Arthurian legends for example by Excalibur, the sword of the true blood line of kings.

Of course its not entirely black and white, nor should the receptive principle be looked down on as inferior. Both are necessary for life, just as in music both consonant and dissonant harmonies are required to lend motion to melody.

Let us gaze in wild wonder upon the timeless wisdom of the ancients!

We join spokes to make a wheel
But it is the center hole
    That makes it move

We shape clay into a vessel
But it is the emptiness inside
    That holds whatever we want

We hammer wood for a house
But it is the inner space
    That makes it livable

    Alert as a warrior
    Courteous as a guest
    Fluid as melting ice
    Receptive as a valley

Sexy is cultural. Exposing breasts as sexual cue is almost entirely a social thing.
Fat and pale used to be in, for instance.

Egyptians didn't cover up. They had nice tits. Sag isn't from lack of support- it's from having infants suck on them all your life. Having a big enough civilization to afford a wet nurse prevents that sort of thing.

Because biologically a womans sex-appeal is the functionality.

It is *one* of our functionalities, though. We need more abilities for survival than merely being able to attract a mate.

Of course. But the stereotypical "women have babies and men provide security" is hard to beat out of us humans. It's not even consciously considered, it's just there.. primal instincts

It's probably not the same for women and men. And like I said, it's not something you consciously consider.
A good looking man looks good to you because he has all the properties that makes him a good 'stereotype'

I'm not even sure about that. I love archetypal hunks, sure, but I have some weird tendencies. I love guys who look morphiney, or anemic. You know. Dark stuff beneath eyes, and gaunt looking.

    Sorry...too much detail

To be honest, I don't think this is always the case. I, for example, get told to stop being a show-off when I take my shirt off, even when every other guy in the skatepark has already done the same... I think it's because males find a larger proportion of women atractive as compared to the inverse (does that make sense, or am I an idiot?)

Carolyn Latteier, the author of Breasts, The Women's Perspective on an American Obsession, said in a TV program "All about breasts, "In many cultures, breasts aren't sexual at all. I interviewed a young anthropologist working with women in Mali, in a country in Africa where women go around with bare breasts. They're always feeding their babies. And when she told them that in our culture men are fascinated with breasts there was an instant of shock. The women burst out laughing. They laughed so hard, they fell on the floor. They said, "You mean, men act like babies?"
