This thread is intended to combine the various subject covered by other threads into one underlying theme, the blockade of Iran and the consequent war.

Is the current Georgian offensive merely intended as a distraction to the impending blockade? Russia would surely come to Iran's aid. Is Bush going to use the Olympics as another ploy to distract China from coming to the aid of Iran?

    Bullshit.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or "Islamofascism", neither did Iran. This is the Neo-Con dream of re-shaping the entire Middle East using military force. Why? Perhaps because they have the hubris to be sitting on top of the oil we need, and to be getting rich from the profits.

It will be WWIII, but it will be our fault.

You see? Proof that the West is a great threat to the Semitic peoples, as is Iran.

The Lincoln got underway for the Gulf this past March, and is just about at the end of its deployment. If a carrier strike group (CSG) is scheduled to return to the US its replacement group gets on station before they head for home so that there isn't any gap in coverage. The Roosevelt CSG is Lincoln's relief. And I'm pretty sure that the Iwo Jima expeditionary strike group's Marines are headed to Afghanistan, because a whole battalion of our guys are going to be rotating out of there soon. In short we always see these elevated force levels in theater during turnover periods so there isn't anything super noteworthy about it, despite its ability to get people excited.

That's something people don't like to talk about. It's so much more fun to drum up negativities based upon a singular view of the situation rather than look at all the various parts.

Negativities? Negative or positive, it seems to be happening.

    Casting predictions… I rarely do but………

The ships and armada are moving into place?... I personally think Iran is going to force the next World War that will not be anything like what we have seen in the past, and I personally think Iran will be wholly responsible. Iran has demonstrated their eager desire to obtain nuclear weapons and their secret enrichment programs that they prohibit inspectors to really see. Iran has clearly made threats on Israel and the Western world. Iran is responsible for this and not any other country! History has shown the world that Iran cannot be trusted.

I personally think the straight will be closed due to fighting and bombardment forcing gas prices through the roof and causing the already fragile economy in the USA to finally go into such a deep recession that the economy will ultimately collapse. Oil prices will be so high and fears so ramped, that financial prices on all domestic goods will skyrocket causing even more panic that will simply lead to a domino effect across the board on all prices and services.

Once this happens the entire world economy will collapse and then it won’t be long until regional fighting and wars break out crippling what little remains of the economy in those areas, then hunger and disease will set in and the world will slide two hundred years backwards overnight. This might all happen without one nuclear weapon being fired, and if one is then it will only make matters worse and our decent that much faster.

I live in Mexico and have ‘No dog in the fight’ so to speak but even out here in this rural area in the middle of nowhere Mexico such world events affect us and our already very poor economy. I am just glad we already have dairy cows, and cattle and chickens and pigs to live off when the proverbial shit hits the fan….

What do you know about the nuclear crimes commited by the USA.
It really is strange to see the one country the usa who as commited more nuclear crimes that any other tell developing countries that they may not presue their intereset.

So even if Iran developes Nuclear tech, that does not mean that they will commit nuclear crimes.

lasty the usa does not provide protection for the people of Iran, Iran has to supply that. It is clear that Iran has neighbors that posses nuclear weapons, even pakistan.

Common sense is what is required in the least to run a country, or to make a way for the population. trying to attack iran for the development of nuclear tech does not give way to common sense.

I don't think anything is going to happen in Iran until after the election. Junior wants to pass his legacy on to someone committed to carrying out his policies...that would be McCain.

Very true, just like how the MEU's operate. One replaces the other, not waiting for them to all get back then send out the next. So for a small period of time, there will be two MEU's from each coast out at some times. And since there's an East and a West coast MEU, as many as 4 can be out depending on deployment schedules. Not to mention the 31st which is almost always deployed somewhere (Usually in east Asia). Even my mom can tell you that

USS San Antonio (LPD17) assault ship
USS Dubuque (LPD8) assault ship/landing dock

USS Pearl Harbor (LSD52) assault ship
USS Carter Hall (LSD50) assault ship

Assault ship sounds like a pretty mean ship. Too bad the only thing these kind of ships (LSD/LPD) assault are liberty ports (If they're engines and electrical don't cut out like they did when I was on the LPD9)... They wont be attacking much since they don't have much of an offensive armament. All they do is carry vehicles from A to B, it's how the Marines get their ride to the fight (Including LHD/A). Just the Navy's way of saying they work for a living

When people sound off about Iran like in #11, I always substitute another name (say like "France", or "America"), to see if it still looks like a plausible story.

In the case of both substitutes I mentioned, I'd say it does look equally plausible (that means: believable). Or a fair bit of it does.

Well, well - more typical rabble-babble from Rabon.

WHAT nuclear crimes by the U.S.??????? Yes, we dropped two nuclear devices on Japan that saved countless THOUSANDS of lives and brought that part of the war to an early end.

A "crime?" It was war, Rabon, and we've not used ONE SINGLE NUCLEAR DEVICE SINCE THEN. And you can be absolutely certain that if they or Germany had been able to develop such weapons first, THEY would have been the ones who used them!!!!!!!!!!!! Such appaling ignorance!

Why don't you just go back to doing whatever it was you've been doing for the past few months and leave the adults alone? This is a much more sensible place during your absences.

Sounds like this might be exactly what's going on, thanks for the explanation.

Hopefully Congress will be sane enough to not let Res. 362 pass.

    Diary Shows Tojo Resisted Surrender

    By MARI YAMAGUCHI, AP

TOKYO (Aug. 12) - Japanese World War II leader Hideki Tojo wanted to keep fighting even after U.S. atomic bombs destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, accusing surrender proponents of being "frightened," a newly released diary reveals.
Excerpts from the approximately 20 pages written by Tojo in the final days of the war and held by the National Archives of Japan were published for the first time in several newspapers Tuesday.

That may be true, but I've also heard that an attack before the elections may help get McCain elected.....
I wouldn't count on them waiting till November.
    Just food for thought....

Did anyone notice Iran's president the other day when he made the statement; "Nuclear weapons are so 20th century"?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlaOVaWWiOo&feature=related ...(about 6 min.50 sec. into video.)
What do you make of that?
    - Something between the lines referring to a new Russian ABM system that makes ICBMs obsolete?
    - And then there's the L.H.C.....the "Large Hadron Collider"

This enters a new possible demise for our tortured little planet that has a whole new 21st century ring to it....
Forget nuclear annihilation, this thing could create a black hole that will swallow up the entire planet in a matter of seconds.

On the subject of a "Massive naval blockade"....
There may be a "massive naval blockade" pulling up to Iran, but when I looked into this several days ago what seemed rather suspicious to me was how all the articles were exact copies of the same report.
They all start with...... "Operation Brimstone ended one week ago".....
Every news agency on Earth with a copy of the same single report.?

Does anyone else smell something here?
It could be a news blackout, a cyberwar defcon-like action because there actually is a large military operation underway...
Or it could be a false story..."dis-information" for whatever reason.

If anyone uses the term "Liberal Media" ...you might as well stop reading right there.
If anyone uses the term "Neo-Con" .........you might as well stop reading right there.
I don't listen to either of them.
They have both been duped, decieved... by an elaborate system with an agenda.
Someday it may be common knowledge both of these "sides" with their agendas are actually inspired by the same source.
They play the simple minded against one another, as they have always done.

"United we stand, divided we fall"
    Who wrote that?
It was so long ago we've all forgotten, myself included.

Wake up people, you're all being played.
Like an instument in the hands of a master.....
Or more to the point...a "host" in the hands of his master.
