you do know that if there is a link here to illegal shit can you be asked to to remove it? even tho you aint providing the crack, you are trafficking in it.
however a text url is ok (no tags)

*this site is way too small and cracks are not what we are about so there is nothing to worry about. besides the law is far from unanimous in its findings on this issue

    Elbaz,

A digital copy is just that, a copy. If the original has problems then the copy will also. I would suggest that you try looking at your disc to see if it is dirty or has scatches on it. These can impede both the reproduction quality and can give errors that computers don't understand. Matters not what you are trying to get a copy of.

Quality in ripping can be adjusted on some rippers. The more info you put into the rip the longer it takes to rip. If you can get rips in the neighborhood of 300+ kps then it is readily apparent that the quality of sound will be better than at 128 kps.

I won't go into political things here, like vat or copywrite as they would probably be better discussed in another forum.

As a side note I totally agree with Clarentavious in his viewpoints of how he moderates his forum. For other reasons than he stated.

    .

BTW, wet1, you seem like you may know the answer to this. You see, it's not the MP3's or CD's that are the problem. It's actually becoming apparant that when I try to play ANY Cd's, burnt or otherwise, in my computer, the sound is crackly. Such isn't the case with my legally, home ripped from my purchased Cd's Mp3's. They're perfectly fine. The CD's play well in other computers, and in other machinery. I can't understand why though? This is a bran new dell with a better sound system that my other comp. Perhaps a setting is messed or something?

BTW, I've tried making a backup copy of Civ 3 for myself, but cannot play with the backup copy, even though its a complete duplicate made with Clone CD. Any idea why?

I'm accusing Thor of being an idiot yet I don't know how to spell the word "barely" properly. And I know Porfiry would remove Clarentavious as moderator should I issue this demand to him "I would complain and make you loose your moderator status."

    I'm an arse hole everyone

Thor you are an idiot. The price of CD's is the price that the market can support, otherwise the price would be lower you fool.
(A prime example is the housing market in the UK, more people want to buy houses so the price increases. Get it?)

You have no excuse for downloading ILLEGAL mp3s, copying games/software. They are providing a service for you, you should pay for it.

Its exactly the same as going to a farm and stealing some food, and saying that you did it because the supermarkets are charging too much.

Clarentavious -> we have had some disagreements in the past, but i think that you have really done it this time.

You don't rent the TV, you pay to watch the TV. There is a difference. If you do not watch tv, and can proove it, then you do not need a license.

What you have just said is a discrace, and if I was a more fickle man, I would complain and make you loose your moderator status.

Thor you fool. It is not overpriced because people buy it. If you think that it is overpriced convince the rest of the country of that fact. Just because you are a poor bugger who probably spends all his money on the internet/playing games/ Beer etc... don't go complaining.

Why don't you impeach bush for being a complete dick head, with no understanding of the word peace.

Why do you not have a problem with it clev?IT IS STILL ILLEGAL. Just because you have been brainwashed by stupid people who bairly know what a computer is, does'nt mean that it is ok.

Elbaz -> Try getting a cd head cleaner, they do'nt cost much. Did wonders for me.

Re-he-he-he-eally, what makes you so powerful. Clar would prolly only get a slap on the wrist. He does such a great job as mod.

    Me?? Idiot?? Never!!
So if no-one buys CD's, the price would be lowered...well you've convinced me

All you have to prove is that you don't watch any of the BBC channels. The lisence money is your payment to the BBC. They don't want adverts on their channel, so they take everyones money. Sounds ok, but I wish they wouldn't beam it to my TV without my permission

umm, no. Basically, record companies are gready, only something like 50p per album goes to the actual band, £2.00 goes to producing the c.ds. the rest goes to profit. (the actual figures may not be correct but are in the correct proportions.). The comment you made on the housing market; the bubble is soon going to burst- it has been forcast.
um, no. That requires much more effort. Get this, i know its hard to believe but, record companies are multi-billion corporations, farmers can barely make a living in the job they do.

Did you read what i said?

The only reason that prices are so high is because people buy CD's. If nobody bought a CD for a whole year the price would soon drop. Why? Because the companies what to make money.

The more something is wanted the higher its price.

Awww, lets all feel sad for captin_crunch who doesn't want to put any effort into anything.awww

Is that all you have to contribute? Actually perhaps you had better keep your mouth shut.
No problem. As long as you do not SELL them on.

nup, sjmarsha is the only one that is flaming, ehm, im only being sarcastic.
Yup and understood very well that you dont know what your talking about.
No, what would happen if noone bought cds for a year would be the record companies would go bust (bankrupt).
No, see, the prices decrease unless they have a monopoly on the market i.e. microsoft.
    well, it would help.

you keep on contradicting yourself, read your posts over before you submit just to make sure that people dont get you wrong. For a minute there, i thought you were against piracy.

  21. for burning music i use nero i think it's the best for music copies i use cloneCD (be sure not to copy on the fly and use jitter correction), for making copies of my PSX games i use CDRWIN it does the job, and finally for downloading music i use WinMX.most of the programs need to be cracked though.

Its a bit of a grey area.

Basically I am against mass production of illegal CD's.

But, I am on my way to Linux where everything is free anyway, so I do not have to worry about it anymore.

Personally I've bought more CD's since I started downloading mp3's. I used to buy maybe one or two CD's a year, this year I've already bought 6. I know a lot of people who say the same thing.

I'm against piracy too, unless it's an M$ product, then you go right ahead =D
