    Or maybe you could not.

As I commented in the other thread where you copied and pasted that big chunk of chunder from a racist site.. The very same article is posted on just about every single racist and white supremacist site on the net, so it was quite easy to find, please provide the name of the author, title and the name of the site you copied it from. Since you are now above the 20 post limit, you will now be able to copy and paste a link to the site you got yours from.

You seem to know where it is just fine on your own. But since you are too lazy...

I doubt if Jamaica's murder rate is third highest in the world. Jamaica has a 'reasonable' judicial system and most murders are recorded. I spent two tours in the military in the Middle East and the murder rate is probably much higher...but goes on below the radar of authorities. The same goes for South Africa...relatively well run compared to many other African countries and 'actual' murder as opposed to 'official' murder would be lower.
The difference in Jamaica and South Africa (no idea about Columbia) compared to many third world countries is that you can't just kill someone and toss the body in a pit and that's the end of it.

or perhaps the acceptence that 'The legend' was a truley a visionary in the sense of his mixed race/half cast/mama black-father white whatever is PC and an original view of an age old argument...pity about the matyrdom aspect (could have removed his toe) but that's the end of the equation 'belief till the end'
"some people are born in the right time, the right place" some one said but cannot remember where I know it from.

yet Liberating Zimbabwe was a bit of a blunder.....

Or second thought's maybe :m: makes you babble b*&&*^%s...:m: smoking has gone up in the UK and so has gun crime...control is the way forward, its just a plant its surley against 'human right's' to deny a man the right to grow anything nature provides. it deny's us our natural right's as provided by nature..............and gets a lot of people killed...just not humanly costeffective in its prohibition and could make the average Jamocci a lot of legitimate bucks....

Why is Jamaica's murder rate high? Poverty, addictive drugs, gangs, it's the same story everywhere.

Legalisation destroy's the 'black market/underworld/criminal[kill or go to jail] and hence negates a large % of the social problems/impact to do with poverty in"the most fertile soil there is" when the market on the doorstep is colossal....and the ignorance/hypocracy with tabacco and alcohol as a medium for social recreational drug use....

Political corruption plays a big part too. They need a revolution.

You are probably right, but I wonder about indegienous religious aspect towards the laws of the island, which way could appease them all..I would try to steer clear of religious governing as that only appeases a %...Jamaica is a gold mine yet many of the people do not beneift

Hopefully it's a solitary animal, and not part of a herd.

Suduko was a clever and entertaining racist.
Not the usual cut and paste variety.

    Let's stay with this thread

What bearing does the US Department of Justice survey of crime victims have on why the crime rate is so high in Jamaica/a non US State/another country?

How does a topic worthy of discussion as to why the crime rate is so high in Jamaica veer completely off course into a debate about racial superiority of one race/color of criminals compared to the other?

For those of us who wish to tackle the original question,
I agree for the most part with the following response, except for the last sentence:
"As the drug trade embraced a drug that was highly illegal in Jamaica, a business with a strong core of family farmers and Rastafarians who used their own product to reinforce their pacifism was taken over by genuine gangsters. Predictably, the killing began."

    Here's my suggestion:
Research what caused that first big flow of guns to Jamaica, particularly in the early '70s?
For the crime statistics enthusiast, compare the crime rates in Jamaica, before and after this "70s" event.
Unfortunately, this is when the killingS began, en masse!

Unlike his or her present-day counterpart with the means to acquire weapons, this must have been a bonanza for those who already had a criminal mind-set.

As with any country it really depends upon the government that meats out the laws. If Jamaica had a government that wanted to crack down on violence , it could, but it refuses to do so. As with ANY society there will be problems but the way governments handle them will determine which way that there society will end up.

The murder rate is high compared to what there are less people in Jamaca then other places they are being compared too. Yes the Durg trade has increased the crime and murder rate perhaps. But think of it this way if you have a country with 3 people in it one gets killed that is 1/3 of the population that was just killed but if you take a country with 6 people in it that is 1/6 of the population it appears to be a smaller number but it is the same ammount of people that have been killed.

Slavery and War (I know no war in Jamaica) get into families and group dynamics and mess them up. Crime creates more crime. Loss of dignity is hard to repair and may take generations. Screwing with reward and punishment systems make take generations to return them to what is optimal under normal non-slavery non-war non high crime situations.

Somebody with PTSD may trauma problems to their children. Marijuana may give temporary relief of PTSD to the type of people who don't get paranoid on it.
