Good so we are agreed, they are overpaid lazy people that don't write their own music and basically talk in a pretty way, woOt!

No people pirate music because its there to be pirated. If people could get away with pirating anything with little or no legal action taken against them, they would. Your opinion is the invalid one, we live in a capitalistic society, and a real job is one that people will pay you to do, hence being a musician is a real job.

No, wrong. You see capitalists like to make-up stories about how life is but that doesn't make it real. Singing is not work it's an entertainment industry and this has no real value outside that realm. Real work is something that adds to soceity in general and serves a function beyond entertaining someone, so while you say my opinion is invalid you are incorrect since it's FACT. You can imagine it now, putting a singer on Survivor with other people that truly have jobs... well they'd sit back lazy and unthinking letting everyone else work while they pretend they are really valuable by pretending to sing. Soon though people would tire of this act and say "you know singing doesn't help us in anyway maybe you should do some real work."

That's how it is in reality outside a capitalist country, put them in India and see how well they do!

I didn't say that. I believe that the musicians can make a great deal of money from CD"s that they sell as well as the live performances they are involved with. By just having their music for me to hear but not make a profit from it , then I think it won't bother their other sources of income making whatsoever.

Hippy music is free. Grateful Dead bootlegs are all over the place. Public art and sculpture is free. How would I know I like something if I can't hear it for free?

    music IS free...

at least in switzerland, it is legal to download music for personal use. note: upload is illegal so you have to watch out with certain filesharing methods...

Do you think there might be an underground organization that springs up when the policing of the internet becomes widespread? Perhaps there shall be a hidden organization worldwide that has members who are part of a vast intranet (where they share their music but locally not nationally) so that it's impossible to track'm?
