oooow! what makes me feel old is: ...when people younger than i am disregard what i have to say as much as adults did when i was a kid ...when i talk about music with someone and they say wow! you've heard of VAST or TOOL or SeaWolf ...when new businesses/shopping places are built to cater to a "young" attitude - like "old" money isn't going to be around long enough to attract (!) ...when I listen to my younger friends' adventures and I get to be quiet and give them the opportunity to travel dark paths and find their own way - instead of saying "I did that and YOU shouldn't"...<--then again, maybe that's what keeps me young... ...when i forget to embrace whatever age i am & not compare myself to how other people my age act... with some dignity i hope *shrug*
The fact that next next week I will gave to do 4 bachelor level examens combining this with a fulltime job maintain social relations at work to get to a better one. Whill it's the middle of the winter and it has been particulairy bad for 2 weeks and that pisses people off
listening to the radio and a Duran Duran song comes on with the DJ saying "and now an oldey but goodie"
I remember the music from Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars, the eponymous hero being played by Buster Keaton.
I first felt old when I turned thirty. That will have been thirty five years ago next month. I feel old because I now take a ton of medications, can't run, am no longer stronger than my sons and have chronic aches and pains. Getting old isn't all that bad. Now that I am a senior citizen my time is my own. I am retired with a home on Long Island and a home in Southern Florida which means I always able to live where the weather is enjoyable. Now that my children have completed their studies and are settled into professions I no longer have to worry about how they are doing. I have discovered that grandchildren are much more fun than children. I constantly get senior discounts. Getting old isn't always fun but there are perks that come with the territory.
i don't feel old but its starting to get strange when i'm talked to in the german polite form of address
Hey, I feel your pain, Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!. I fucking hate how when an older person disagrees with you, instead of actually refuting your argument they often simply say 'You're a teen with no life experience, what do you know?' A completely worthless ad hominem argument, but apparently in many people's eyes perfectly ok. What makes me feel old? Well the fact that I'll be 18 in almost 3 months...I find it hard to think of myself as a 17 year old, let alone a 18 year old... And the fact that I've only grown 2cm since last summer, and probably won't much more. :bawl::bawl:
At 55 the only way that I 'feel' old is that I can't relate to teenagers anymore; 10 years ago I was 45 going on 15, in some ways.
Shit at what age does that happen....I can't afford to shrink I will be a midget Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
i'll agree but i don't know how much i have grown, if... turning 18 in a few weeks but my last week as a minor i'll spend sailing on the atlantic, not having to worry about anything... i wonder how bad the terror of returning to my life will be...
I turn 40 in two weeks...and am starting to feel it. I feel really old when I shake my cane at teenagers and yell "Damn whippersnappers!" I like that one.
Yeeees! Tiny_going on forty If we stick around sci long enough we might see Shorty morph to Stooped old lady_78
