I love it. Some of the things they show are pretty amazing, because there is such a long and arduous process that goes into making something that looks so simple.

yeah I usually enjoy when they talk about chemical processes that goes into making of everything...the huge tanks of sulfuric acid and than nitric acid just nearby. It gets my heart pumping..

Funny... I just watched the Cricket Bat episode and liked that one more than the ultra complicated ones (like the building of a Rolls Royce, which bored me to tears). I love watching the sports equipment being made.

I only wish they'd go into a bit more detail on lots of things but I do understand it's produced for mass consumption so some of the finer (and to me, interesting) technical aspects are often skimmed over.

I also enjoy viewing that program. I usually jot down notes on how to improve what machines I see by redesigning them with todays technology instead of SOME of there older technology that was used in making the machines.

Do you all get the American version or do you get a re-dubbed one in a different language? (actually, the American one is the re-dubbed one, but you get my point)

Also, I don't like the new narrator in the US. I preferred Brooks Moore.

I just got a job at an aluminum factory. I watched how they extruded it. Its like a giant Play-Doh press. They just melt the ingot, and push it through the shape they want.

On the food channel they have the same thing. I love watching them make Dots. The molds are made out of cornstarch.

I've never seen the show you mentioned String. Now I'll have to watch it. Thanks for the link!!

Watch it all the time, but the weird music gives me the willies. Sort of like a canned porno-film track for nerds. And the narrator has this singsong way of talking that makes me wonder if they fill him with benzos before they give him the script to read. It's a cool show but I like Modern Marvels better.

Also an outstanding show, along with "Mythbusters" and "Extreme Engineering."

There is this Buld it big show. The dude keeps going up in highrise buildings. Now I don't like heights, so I get dizzy, just by looking at the TV. he doesn't like it either....

Mythbusters my *ss... they are bunch of lazy dopes who act like nerds, and almost always say "myth busted" when it is their experiment that it is at fault.

Yes. I am an avid fan of everything that comes on the Science channel - in particular "How it's made".......although I'm not a fan of their new humongous orange logo .

My favorite episodes are the "accordion assembly", and the "fiber optic line" episode.

It's kinda weird how something as menial as a machine stamping things out, things being heated/melted, or products moving down an assembly line makes for great television. There are lots of people who actually work in factories, and watch this for 8 hours a day already LOL.

I'd love to know who came up with all the precision robotic mills, and automated factory components. Have they done that episode yet?

The myths the test (when they do it correctly) are actually very interesting.
