Okay, so whenever i'm on the internet, a little box will come and say "server busy" it eventually goes away and brings up an advertisement. It happens frequently, and obviously pop up blocker doesnt help. Please help.

Do you suppose that just maybe you could be a little more specific???? Is this just one site, several, all, or what?????

Depends on certian websites. Ususally low budget sites with many users have slow servers (usually it is just a lot of users) that can only make so many transactions a second, have to exclude you when other people are doing the same thing you are doing at the exact same time.

Or if it happens on a lot of different sites you could have an adware problem or a browser hijack.

my guess from what data you provide...

is you are infected with a malware program that is 'phoning home' for some reason, further download of malware, upload of your data, adware related collection of browsing habits being uploaded, etc... to either a server that is swamped by all the infections 'phoning home', or the server has been found and taken down...

either way the ads are probably just a part of the malware...

i would guess you are running some sort of free malware/spyware scanner that may be telling you you are clean... the free scanners are simply not useful anymore...

i think the best combination of protection right now is...

    Spyware Doctor...

Avira Antivir Personal Edition Premium... (notice i was specific on this)...

they work together beautifully and are the best detection tools in their relative tasks...

Avira simply outperforms NOD32, Norton, Mcafee, Kaspersky, etc... etc...

    and runs lean and clean...

google both those and download... for ~$57 a year... pennies a day... you don't have to worry about this stuff... not to mention wind up with a malware or virus that actually collects keystrokes and gains access to your life...

I never understood the purpose of adware and spyware. Seem odd that people would sit there creating these things that really serve no purpose.

apart from the fact that the spyware/adware industry is worth millions, you mean?

Hi flameofanor5, I agree with Dr Mabuse and suspect you have some malware. If you are a cheapskate like me there are some free antivirus programs like Avast, AntVir and AVG.
There are also plenty of online scanners useful for one off scans such as trend micro or Kaspersky. So make sure you have a newly update antivirus and try a scan.
It is also handy to have some software specially designed to root out malware. I quite like spybot, give that a try unless you have used something similar.

If it keeps occurring after running a spyware scanner, run hijack this. If you don't know how to troubleshoot the log file, you can post it here and I'll give it a look.

I had a major adware problem just a few months ago, turns out, the adware left open a pathway for seven trojans to come in my computer. I had to take my computer in to get fixed.

I forgot to say this happens even when I'm not on the internet....

i've already given you the fix for this problem...

and prevention for the next time...

free scanners and free virus checks being effective against infection is a thing of the past...

the rest is up to you...
