Jewish Defense League accuses Will Smith of Anti Semitism, wants I am Legend Pullled

If you haven't heard, the JDL has accused Will Smith of Anti Semitisim. During an interview with a Scottish News paper, Will Smith said the following.

Why is the JDL still allowed to fuction, especially after plotting to blow up Darryl Issa's office in an act of terrorism. I wonder why their assets weren't frozen?

The JDL is a joke. Will Smith said nothing anti-Semitic. It is long past time for Jews to repudiate the Jewish Defense League.

 

The Jewish Defense League is quite obviously in the wrong here and what Will Smith is, if anything, just a basic display of common sense. Hitler was just what happens when you mix way too much charisma, a broken and needy society and a few voices-in-the-head together and shake. He wasn't Snidely Whiplash.

Certain groups in the world, the JDL included, are so convinced that they are being slandered that they end up jumping at shadows and taking offense at things that were not intended to give any.

Someone probably did tell him that. And subsequently had all their skin removed before being thrown into a vat of salt to wither and die. Like I said, the man had more voices in his head than is in any way healthy.

And mostly his message was that Germany had been broken and abused by the enemies that surrounded it and that they would have to have perfect unity in order to rebuild and take vengence. The racial superiority was given out as part of the message that there were enemies within as well as without... which in his sick mind meant jews, gypsies, communists, dissidents of all kinds, etc.

As much damage as he caused to the peoples of Europe, his ploy worked right up until the moment every other major power banded together to supply a second beatdown. After WWI, Germany was mostly depopulated rubble picked clean by the invading powers and cut off from most natural resources. And yet somehow, with ducttape and superglue, they manage to get themselves ready to pick a fight on nearly even terms with the rest of the world in just a handfull of years.

What is scarier than a sick mind is an actually functional sick mind with a few grams of charisma.

 

Hitler is no different from the myriad of other leaders that sow fear inside their country in order to remain in power, whats different is the fact that he used it so well, as to kill 6 million people. Leaders like Saddam, Stalin all used fear to keep control, Hell, Even Bush did, to an extent.

In relation to the OP,
Fanatics will go after anyone, and Will Smith's comment was dead on, It's usually a combination of factors ,No one is just "born" evil. JDL should be monitored and controlled very carefully...before they kill anyone...(again?)

 

Unfortunately leadership positions are only ever taken by those that want power more than anything else in the world. They give up a normal social life, their health, family, their privacy. Everything. This means that everyone besides utter fanatics and the irreperably corrupt get weeded out as you go up any given chain of command.

Also, as long as the JDL is merely whining, as opposed to the liberal use of molitov cocktails as has been seen in assorted minority riots everywhere, I'm happy. I may roll my eyes, but they are allowed to be pissed at anything and everything if they so choose.

 

It doesn't matter if the dialogue was right or wrong, it's a movie.

Thank goodness they realized that this wasn't a Mel Gibson Moment. I can't imagine what the JDL said about Mad Mel.

 

This is a relevant point. Even if Smith were an anti-semitic, that doesn't mean the film is and should be pulled. The comments and the film have nothing to do with each other.

I have no choice but to comport with Challenger78's comment. The JDL must understand that people are not evil, but their actions and/or beliefs can be.

I am obliged to take Will Smith's side as a result of his rational thinking.

 

I think most of you are obviously antisemitic. To in any way defend Hitler is to go against the Jewish premise that he was wrong about everything and evil to the core. To suggest otherwise is to crack open, even if ever so slightly, the possibility that Hitler was something other than the leader of an evil empire. Hence, you and Will Smith need to see the error of your ways and cast logic to the dogs.

He didn't say Hitler was good........but that to Hitler, Hitler was good and he was doing the "right" thing in his own eyes.
