Win XP Pro...everything is perfect, works great...just it'll take you some time to get XP patches for some older programs, but I love it!

    - i run win2K, (love this os by the way)
    - voodoo 3 graphics card
    - sound blaster 16 (on an isa) sound card

    - 20 and a 40 gig hard disk

I had an old 333 celery that i managed to get to 500 mhz before but now 500 mhz is no big deal

No worries, your computer is outdated when they ship it out of the manufacturing place, as long as it does what you want it to

    G4

Yup. I've got a G4 667 MHz in a Powerbook. 1 gig of RAM, 60 gig hard disk, CD-RW/DVD-ROM, running OS 10.2.1. Having unix underneath a nice interface is really fantastic; I love being able to open a Terminal window for either programming or tweaking the system. Meanwhile, I've got all the regular productivity software: the Adobe suite, the Office suite, Mathematica, and when the need arises (mostly for online poker) I start up Virtual PC Windows 2000 pro.

I thought this was titled "what is your OS?" Oh well...

    I'm only on a PIII 500mhz 768Mb P-133Mhz DIMM SDRAM A-BIT BH6 V 1.0 Motherboard, previously only a 10GB hard-drive, but today I rebuilt the system.

I Got it a new box (A P4 box) to replace it's old box, since it was a bit battered and war torn and gave it a new 40Gb drive, just to top it up.

    OS = Win98, purely because I don't need 2000 or XP acting a memory/processor hog.

But I'm a junky when it comes to OS's, I just need to get hold of a MAC then you can say I've run with virtually all of them.

Microsoft= DOS, Win3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Haven't played with XP yet.

Linux= Debian, Suse, FreeBSD. (Still not the others yet)

    Commodore= C16, C64, Amiga (retro's)

Some other systems too, like BBC's, Spectrums, Atari's even a telex system once upon a time.

    There's a 16k upgrade?!?!

This one only has the 4k upgrade... if I had 16k, I could multitask!

It would be wise for us modern computer geeks to never forget our origins... the good old, bad old, 1-mhz-if-you're-lucky days.

When can we get 64 bits processors?

    prozak ...

Maybe it was only 4k, thought it was 16k ...

Plugged in right rear, stood vertical. Bummer part was
that if it wiggled or jiggled - bummer! Ended up gluing
it and the T/S down on a masonite base and no more
    problems.

And no ... I'm too lazy to dig around to find it, maybe
one of these days when I'm bored.

    Take care

    Thanks wet1 ...

    That was the story!

Started with the Sinclair, switched to the T/S
because it had 4k of ram, added the plug-in.

Thanks for saving me from having to rumage
    around.

Somehow Bachus I don't think that computer runs.

I have a 486 x 66Mhz sitting around, it was once a fine piece of kit.

Problem is now, it's old. Once I blew the fuse in the power pack, I opened the box up and had a look, the fuse was soldered to the board, so I couldn't replace it.

So I just took a strip of copperwire from an old headphone set, and wound it around the fuse. (DON'T DO THAT AT HOME!)
I would be running it now as apart of my LAN network, but I can't leave it running for too long incase it blows up.
