Really? What sort of problems do you see along those lines?

    Eye of the beholder?

Such as? I don't have to much of that at all. FF on the other hand requires me to download a new plugin every time it comes across a media file it dosen't inherently recognize. Which is always.

And we now see the real motivation...

    Please.

I hardly make my choices based upon something as simple as motivation...

firefox allows you to do that so you can select which plugins you want or don't want, and since it's also designed for you to modify at your own risk, It doesn't have to come with all the plugins installed.

IE, you have to do some serious searching (for me anyway) to find and disable objects, delete data , and loads of other stuff. Plus IE doesn't let you modify the skin and the looks as easily as FF.

Look wise, FF is much better, IE actually charges you for the skins, FF doesn't and there's some pretty cool themes out there.

My favourites: Addons, I can download from youtube, metacafe and loads of other sites via one addon, I can look up any word that very pedantic people put up by simply clicking the word while pressing alt (answers.com plugin).

Security, I've never had my homepage hijacked with firefox, but with IE i'd get it all the time. as others has testified, thats pretty good.

    why IE sucks

IE is too deeply burried inside the OS and compromises the OSes security.
M$ takes too long time to patch security flaws. The monthly scheduled updates are the most ridiculous solution ever seen :m:. If M$ is late one or two days on finishing and testing a patch, the doors remains wide open for another month! They should come back to immediately releasing finshed patches. The users are intelligent enough to decide if they install them now or after waiting for a month.
I use IE only for M$$ updates, and for nothing else.

You can uninstall IE you know, but you shouldn't because it's handy to have a spare browser lying around.

I use firefox, for no other reason that I downloaded it and it asked me if I wanted it to be my default browser.

That is a pretty ignorant statement considering that you only have experience with 2 out of the 5, and you don't know Opera, the one that easily beats Firefox.

I still think, Firefox is the one people should use, as Opera is less successful on the PC arena. However. I will give Opera a go, Just to see what the hype is ..

Eventually it comes down to personal preference. Although it is probably safer to use a more obscure browser, because hackers tend to try to hack the popular ones with bigger frequency....

But because IE is popular and easy to hack they'll go for IE first, It's what you have to use to download firefox..

Posting with Opera now.. It's fast and its mean but it's not popular enough, not that i go for the popular stuff, but it helps if you're looking for customized themes or addons. I'm not experienced enough to start creating my own..
