and they were wrong, we found other continents...we are now more efficient...we found space!

And than we will find other dimensions perhaps, other universes, perhaps we can travel back in time and steal food from ancients

I'd think that if humans ever decided to travel in space outside our solar system they wouldn't even try to kill others they meet because I'd think those others will be far ahead of humans and would entirly eliminate humans from existance forever.

That's irrelevant. We are not meant to consume grains. A large portion of the population is either ceiliac or allergic to wheat and other grains. The bottom line is that we don't NEED to put grains in ALL our foods! It's STUPID behaviour!! :bugeye:

if there were other species out there that have gone far ahead of evolution...it would be illogical for them to destroy anything at all.

parasites best resemble beings of the future.

There is no need to destroy, no need to enslave, just direct the population unconsciously to do that which is required for a task.

I guess that was stated with tongue-in-cheek, but why not discuss a better way to solve the over-population problem which we all seem here to agree upon. After all, no one else in the media or politics or academia even is saying anything about over population! It is like criticising Judaism, you really stick your neck out because the fanatics are in control of those subjects!

I see it as the biggest problem we have in the world today. I see the reason for it being that all the old mainstream religions are against doing anything about it. So, instead of heading for a horrendous, ultimate population crash, we would do well to consider a possible cure.

I know from world history that civilizations grow in population and then, finally, they collapse. Their numbers usually increase and their resources usually decline during that process. In the past, a newer and more advanced religion came along and we developed a new civilization that had the ability to solve the problems of the last one.

This is where we are now: http://humanpurpose.simplenet.com So, lets use social science to create a better ideology or world-view to replace the ideological mess that is currently miss-managing the world. If we do it right, it will spread just like the older religions did when they were new.

There are just too many people in the world and maybe twice as many in the next fifty years considering recent population trends. Unless people stop multiplying like demented rabbits, the population will sort itself out in the worst possible way as we start running out of necessities.

It will be okay. We can just populate denser and more efficiently, and find or make some place for everybody.

But each and every human life is sacred, and people have so many compelling reasons to enjoy having as many children as they do. Humans are often said to be among the horniest of God's creatures, enjoying being constantly "in heat," able to breed year-round, not confined to a limited "breeding season." People have powerful reproductive urges, and there must be some proper moral outlet. The natural remedy for our powerful reproductive urges, is pregnancy. The natural remedy for pregnancy is childbirth.

I don't believe all the gloom and doom. Humans supposedly are intelligent, and we are accused of adapting "too well" to the environment. So ADAPT then. With wise leadership and good work ethics, there's no reason why resources must run short, unless to fatten the profits of a few bigwig corporate stockholders at everybody's expense (i.e. recent gasoline price-gouging). Technology right now doesn't appear headed towards people colonizing more worlds anytime soon, but rather towards encouraging people to populate this one, more densely and efficiently.

I advocate natural human population growth, and the natural densification of populations that presumably may have to come with that. But I don't believe it to be "bad," but very "good" for the greater good of the populous many.

There are signs, though, that the human organism is not currently functioning in a way that leaves a symmetry in the environmental equation. Instead there's an asymmetry - we input at the cost of our output, and the cost to the environment. In our case, the ecosystem, or niche is the entire planet.

Our output is not usable or beneficial, but damaging to that environment.
We haven't learned how to keep the relation symmetrical; until we do we're in danger from our success (at exploiting everything). We simply can't afford to have everyone living in big, Western-style housing, and driving cars around.

People are capable of making wise choices, but they depend on their leaders for guidance. These days, at least in America, we've got a triple-whammy: in politics, business and religion, some really selfish, undereducated, incompetent, short-sighted, and/or downright mean-spirited leaders have emerged.
