I have been trying to find out what the french term "court metrage" means. Every search I do leads to a french language website and I don't speak french. I do gather that it is a cinema term. Thanks.
According to the handy online dictionary, it means "short film." Court means "short" and metrage means "measurement." So the essence of the term is "something of short measure." I could have used that as a name for my puppy.

I was doing a search for an actress named Allison Court (I have a neice and two nephews and she does a children's program) and wound up on youtube watching the most bizzare half minute video titled "Allison Court Metrage". Some french woman searching a building for Allison, screaming as camera pans to Allison hanging by the neck from a shower head, dead presumably. Really disturbed.:bugeye: Nothing to do with the actress I was googling. Made me wonder if Court Metrage was some new sort of "art form" but it just means a short. Thanks again.
I can see how it must have been frustrating. There a few English results if you specify English on google advanced search, but they all assume that you know what the word means. What is wrong with "short film" if you are writing in English?- Pompous film buffs!
