In answer to a previous poster who seemed to think
that we were at the peak of an evolutionary pointy mountain.

Evolution does not work like that. It is more like a tree.
There are many best solutions, and all are surviving.
They are the leaves, and inside are all the evolutionary precedents and possibilities,
which are the branches and twigs.

Intelligence is not usually a factor which improves the chances of genetic transfer.
Little creatures with small brains and good defences are much better at surviving.
That is why in Britain this year, with a mild winter and a wet summer,
we have fifteen billion slugs, more than the human population of the entire world.
Which is why you may have noticed your cabbages and bedding plants disappearing.


Different Question?
Is it possible that the nature of God is more like a slug than a human?
God may have created human beings to provide
cabbages and bedding plants for his chosen ones.

True, it is not the smartest specimen but the one most able to adapt that is selected. The latter trait doesn't always follow from the former. Cockroaches have us bested on that one.

Nipples on a male are for aesthetic purposes and for symmetry.

 

I'm supposing the post was referring to proof as in logical proof. Not as in, see you buying those $5000 Prada shoes is proof you are not good with money! Or this one, of course there is "proof" of God, just look at the sun - see that's proof.
(That sun bit was actually told to me by a really nice Muslim kid).

The great point was in reference to the Biblical genesis where God is having a hoot and laughing it up with the angles by giving Adam a cock and watching as Adam tries to figure out why it was standing up all the time and what to do with it :shrug: Funny stuff that Bible.

That is no proof at all, since there is no proof to support the validity of those books. If I were to write a book saying "there is no god" then does that mean that there is no god?
