All? Rubbish. Humans are ten a penny. Err, because by definition you can only have one dominant species...?
Well not all, but you know what I mean You proved my point. Why is it that HUMANITY is the dominant species, not cockroaches, or kangaroos?
Nope, just made you re-phrase your declaration. Because it's our "turn" to be lucky for a while. No doubt the dinosaurs thought much the same way (if they could think).
Cockroaches are much the same over the past hundreds of millions of years. Humanity is a one hit wonder. In just 3 million years (according to Scientists views), we have risen from ape-like creatures (austrolopythicis) to our Godly status today. Earth is at our mercy, and you can't deny that. In just 100 years (1900-2000) we have developed computers, bombs, went to the moon, and so much more. In millions of years, other creatures remain unchanged. This proves how Humanity is special.
Nope it just shows what can happen when intelligence happens to be the current thing at the top of the food chain. Ask a dinosaur and he'd say size and teeth were what counted. We only believe intelligence is of any real value because that's what WE have. When your only tool is hammer you see every problem as a nail.
But it is Humanity that has achieved much. It is Humanity that can ignore their natural cravings and have morales and reasoning. Dinosaurs were merely slaves of their own needs, they could not think about higher values. That is what makes a Human a Human, the fact that, apart from Race of course, he/she can think and decide for themselves. And there is no doubt, it is Humanity that has shaped Earth as we know it today. Earth is at our mercy.
Yeah, and we humans have no compassion or mercy to give! ...even as the planet is begging for mercy, humans ain't gonna' give it. Baron Max
Well that shows who's in charge. That shows who's risen to the top of the Pack, and Humanity is very special. We have achieved feats in 100 years that animals cannot achieve in millions.
You're assuming that "thinking about higher values" and " being able to ignore natural desires" has some intrinsic value.
No other animal can do this. No other animal knows what we know or does what we does. No other animal is capable of this.
Yup, and no other animal was a large and powerful as some of the dinosaurs. So what? It proves nothing except we're seeing everything through "human-tinted" spectacles. We're smart, we're at the top. So there MUST be some correlation, right? Not necessarily. Like I said, it's just "our turn" at the top.
But Humanity is the only species on earth that can believe, know, and want. It's not ''our turn''. Humanity will live forever. Just look at our current worldPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Again you're assuming that those qualities have any real value in the universe. It's not a fact. It could all be an accident. Really? I bet the dinosaurs said that. Supposition and/ or wishful thinking. Yeah, just look at it: overcrowded, eco-system going wrong, food shortages in some places, food gluts in others... All it would take is one or two fairly small (by nature's standards) events and we'd be gone, dead and dying. And then something else would have its turn.
Odd, a human believing that he alone is 'special' (whatever that means). Vanity, vanity... When a whale or an elephant or a virus calls you 'special' get back to me...
'Dominant' by what perspective? Some turtles live 200 years, cockroaches were here before us and will be after! Your declaration of 'dominance' is both arbitrary and spurious! Just like 'special'! All vanity!
Go one on one with one lowly AIDS virus and see how special and dominant you really are. Such blind colored (delusional) glasses you peer through...
They do. An ignorant life form with no place in the universe will not survive. A life form that knows nothing, desires nothing, and can do nothing will die. We are here. We have done wonders. We have survived. Humanity is the only species that can know. That can change nature, and that's why we are special. A frog cannot stop an Asteroid from hitting Earth. Humanity can (to some extent)
