I would have to say, the difference between Objective and Subjective. Very simple but so important.

Nope. The most important is the knowledge to know what to do with the knowledge you have. And how to gain more of it.

And keep saying no, until the price comes down to something you're prepared to pay.

I think its to know yourself. Know why you do things instead of just blindly following what others say and do.

If you can only know one thing, and you were otherwise a bed-ridden vegetable unable to walk or fend for himself, then I would hope that one thing was "how to inject yourself with heroine." If you're going to be in a nearly vegetative state, at least you can feel good while lying there.

If you mean that you get one "deep thought" and are otherwise condemned to being shallow and non-contemplative, then I think Orleander's "know thyself" (or, equivalently, "the unexamined life is not worth living") is probably best, assuming you have the capacity for self-analysis without violating the "unable to know anything else" rule.

If you don't have that capacity, then I'd probably go with the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."

If you're stranded in a jungle, the most important knowledge is how to make fire.

If you're visiting the cafe's in Amsterdam, the most important knowledge is how to roll a joint.

If you're visiting an internet forum, the most important thing is knowing how to read.

    Importance of knowledge is subjective.

    How about...

Fear of the unknown? After all, knowing the unknown puts you in possession of possibility? Or is this entirely garbage.

I would also say how to talk and think total crap. Allowing this gives the mind freedom and leads to forming new knowledge.
