How would we know what a "2" looks like? What would it feel like? What are it's properties in the real world? Is it energy? Is it matter? Or is it just a label?

i will quote a post of mine from my other thread to prove that infinity exists in physical terms.

"there is X amount of energy in the universe (a hell of alot actualy). energy cannot be created only transformed. wich concludes that the energy that exists within the universe must have always existed in some way shape or form.

this in turn must indicate that the universe has always existed in some way shape or form, because energy cannot exist if the universe does not. for energy to transform and exist we also therefore need space and time. so this also means that space time and energy must have always existed.

hence why i suggest the universe has always existed and is infinite. do we not agree on this ?"

    peace.

I dont know if energy cant be created or destroyed. I heard that before but I also heard it was disproven.

people will only tell you that energy can be created or destroyed to fit in with the big bang theory. but for energy to be created or destroyed you would have to defy and change the laws of physics.

it has never been dissproven or even close to it. its a fact that energy cannot be created or destroyed. but people who back the big bang theory say that the laws of physics break down when we go back to the time of the big bang.

so in conclusion energy cannot be destroyed or created, unless the laws of physics dont count and we decide they "used to be different", but as it stands with the actual laws of physics energy is infinite all you can do is transform it or manipulate.

    peace.

Youre right that energy cannot be created or destroyed.
But i do think you just killed the big bang theory with your own...

Oh hey i didnt see this post before, i concur.

Couldnt energy just be converted to its base "pre-big bang state" in the big shrink ?

im not sure, i guess its possible but its just speculation i guess.

Yeah its rather impossible to ever know that, was just speculating.

theres nothing wrong with speculating, imagination fuels progress.

So lets say your right and it can't be created or destroyed.

How does that prove that their is an infinite amount?

Couldn't there be a finite amount that can never be destroyed or more added to it?

it doesent prove there is an infinite amount of energy. but it does prove that energy has always existed and always will do. wich in the context of time is infinite.

there is a difference between infinite amount of something and something that will always exist in an infinite time-line. but as far as science goes the best guesses are that there is an infinite amount of stars and planets. or such a huge vast amount that a number cannot be estimated or even calculated.

When they say "energy can not be destroyed and created", they did not say that it can't alter for instance, is photons identical with matter? can you transform matter the other way around into some exotic matter? Is this altering the reason for the space, the matter, the universe?

how can an infinite number of things exist in the physical realm? Infinite isn't a number, it is a word indicating something that is limitless.

is there any proof that the universe is infinite, or is this just a guess to prevent having to entertain the possibility that the universe had a beginning and thus something that initiated this beginning?

then again, now that there is something in the universe, how can it end? How can it just go away? It can't, so I guess that takes care of causality... or not?

energy can transform into other states, meaning that it must have always existed in some shape or form. regardless of its previous forms it has always been.

as far as i know photons are not identical to solid matter. but light is a form of energy.

do you mean transform light into solid mass or into something of that nature?. as far as we know i dont think "space" has any physical traits to examine. apart from being a dimension without form. or atleast a form we cannot observe.

im not sure if there are an infinite amount of things in existence. they might be limited to a vastly huge number i dont know. but the universe must be infinite in terms of time, because for energy to exist it needs the universe (obviously). and energy cannot spawn from nothingness as that is illogical and goes against the laws of physics. so as far as time is concerned energy has always existed in some form and always will, hence it is infinite.

the proof is the laws of physics, wich state that energy cannot be created or destroyed. to say that energy had a start is suggesting that once upon a time, there was nothing. then one day something just happened to pop into existence without anything causing it to happen. to suggest that nothing can just turn into something is like saying magic exists.

Talking about infinity, girls offer infinity.

    Infinity through reproduction. Babies->you->reproduction->babies->you

    and so on...

They are fun, cute, and infinity comes with hardcore adventure.

reproduction of females is not infinite, because im pretty sure in over 50 billion years time they wont exist. but the energy that created females will still live on in the universe somewhere.

Well all the models of the univsere portray it as a spherical body. and if you think about...a sphere is infinite, just as space is. While the universe may have an finite amount of space it also has no ending like the surface of sphere.

the nature of space time allows for this. It just maybe that traveling the full distance of the universe may lead to returning to your previous position when you began you travel...
