I've heard some refer to deep thinking as mental masturbation. I guess there is some truth to this, as thinkers get off on thinking. But, is it wrong?
Wrong? No, not in and of itself. But if ones "deep thinking" keeps them from providing for their loved ones, letting them starve to death, it might be considered "wrong". A eureka moment is always nice. Still no reason to run around nude in the streets when you've discovered your million dollar ID though. Further on theirs nothing wrong with keeping your mind sharp especially if you have a dull job
"Deep thinking" is runnning down the objections to the objections. Looking at all the aspects. Taking an enormous amount of time in thinking on one particular topic. Most people do not think deeply. They reflect a moment and then decide. This may be efficient, but it lends itself to missing very important points.
Humans would probably cease to exist if they did that very often! In fact, if humans had done that much in the old days, we wouldn't even be here talking about it. YES, I agree with this person. I find that everytime I find myself mentally masturbating, I also have found myself pig fucking. Its quite a sight for the unprepared.
