I know people who actually believe this stuff and teach it to their kids.
My son's class had to write reports on dinosaurs and one girls report said all the dinosaurs died in the great flood.
What is a teacher to do? Can she correct her? I know as soon as she tries, the parents will be in there screaming about it.

I was listening to a radio show this morning that I thought was going to be about creationist museums. But instead it was about a creationist that leads tours through natural history museums to "debunk" evolution. They had taped some of what he had said and I damn near

The tour guide started off saying that he will convince them all that the museum is actually a church, otherwise he will buy them all an ice-cream. He had kids questioning everything with "But how do you know it is true?" which is good, but in this instance they are not looking to get the question answered, but instead just inferred that scientists are unable to answer the question. And he certainly did not suggest that the question should also be pointed at the bible, because it was written by God.

The creationist even went on to suggest that the ills of the world are caused by teaching evolutionary theory, because it teaches people to believe that they came from nothing. He then went on to suggest that Columbine might not have happened if the boys had a Christian upbringing.

 

Wow. I'd better get a free Bible to go with the inflated ego necessary to think that the universe is ~6,000 years old.

 

No, the Bible doesn't. At least not in Genesis (just read it a couple of weeks ago). It's just something Xians made up, like most of what they preach.

All we need is a clone of Homo erectus.

 

Better tell that to the families of the Virginia Tech victims. They wouldn't have died had Seung-Hui Cho been a Christian. Wait, he said that he was mimicing Jesus Christ!
